RME KRNL,
I don't believe Obama gives one wit about our troops. He has slighted them far too many times to believe he cares. This trip was not out of respect for our men or their grieving families. It was all about Obama. EVERYTHING is about Obama. Every move he makes is about him and his agenda. As you so aptly put it, "it was more photo op than anything else".

Agree KRNL (Sir)
I wonder how many times G. Bush BROUGHT THE PRESS WITH HIM when visiting Walter Reed or with famalies of the KIAs? Frankly, as a vet myself, I don't like to see him salute - I don't care that he is CIC, he's done nothing to qualify him to return a salute from an E-1 IMHO.

After what Obama has said in the past about our troops I don't believe this was a serious visit, but like you said, more about Obama. I'll have problems with any president of any political background who verbally attacks our military. This president is all about himself.

I agree and feel the same. Although he did at least learn to do it right (for show -- remember, Obama is ALL ABOUT show), seeing him saluting only reminds me that that's probably the total extent of his military knowledge. And that's IMNSHO (in my NOT so humble opinion).
