Where do we find the conservative base to build on?

The pendulum swings back and forth. A conservative leader will emerge. It HAS to happen. Events will dictate it. Does America deserve this Obamanation? Nah. Fifty years of almost unbroken prosperity and a technological revolution that has completely changed everyone's lives has just weakened the old traditions and people are a bit confused. The liberal structure built since LBJ was president cant be changed politically, it can only be changed by events.

Of course, the s&tpile is merely a metaphor - I'm not casting aspersion on your analysis, merely trying to put it in terms of the old story about the optimist on Christmas morning.

I fear you're right about the possible election result. As for the specific breakdown of corruption, vote fraud, etc., I'm sure we'll never know the whole story on either side of the aisle.

But you're right. Things change, eventually. We've survived horrific wars, and corrupt and incompetent presidents. We'll survive an Obama or another Clinton presidency. It just won't be a very good thing for the governmental system set forth by the founding fathers.

The time is "ripe" for a re-surgence of Conservatism.

Conservatives still need a LEADER. And things will get worse first!
