The Tax Shell Game

The tax shell game

It has already started to happen alright. Arnie, the Terminator, here in Kalifornia, announced that he wants a 1.5 percent increase in the sales tax to ward off the over spending of the Democrat Assembly and Senate. Can't cut spending, Oh NO! I bet Hussein's tax increases will end up being that anyone who makes over $50,000.00 a year will get hit. Just what we need when faced with a depression. I am not fincncially ready for it, but part of me says. "go for it, we need a really bad depression and maybe even a terrorist attack or two, to wake up the mind num robots that call themselves voters, in this Country. I have a place at the beach on the central coast. Part of me says I would miss the coast if I were to move out of Kalifornia. But with work and such, I have not been over there since May, and my wife since April. Might as well sell it and move to a state that I can afford to live in. If the tax hikes keep up, I NEVER WILL be able to get over there.

This is what we are being forced into putting up with. If Big brother taxes us enough, we have to stay home, right where he knows where we are. George Orwell pegged it alright. Someone once wrote that, "The power to tax, is the power to enslave."

good points

Claymor;

Thanks as usual for being a contributer to my site. I really do appreciate your input. My best to the Mrs.

I have always maintained the view that if anyone wants to see what the US would become under a leftist government that all they had to do was to look at either CA or my former state NY.

Both had driven industries and manufacturing out their respective states by huge tax increases to pay for dubious and burdensome social programs, that were more often than not mismanaged. If you were a business would you want to stay in a state that was non-business friendly? After the companies moved, it was left up to the taxpayers to pick up the slack.

As you said so well in your post it NEVER occurs to these folks that perhaps they're spending more than they take in, and yet all I ever hear from them is "you have to sacrifice for the betterment of the whole" or as the are want to say, "spreading the wealth"

What happens when the wealth is so spread there is no more wealth?

As for the terror attacks, I am not so certain that they would happen here on US soil as I am thinking more in terms of "created" incidents by nations such as Iran, or their proxies. Perhaps similar to the USS Cole, embassy bombings, or Marine barracks in beruit.

I can envision a scenario wherein an Iranian speedboat approaches too closely to a US vessel, is fired upon with warnings, and not heeding the warings is eventually destroyed. Within hours the Iranians will have produced "widows" of the poor misunderstood "fishermen" that had simply misunderstood directions or lost their way....
