The Cost of The Freedom Of Speech Card

I agree...

However, I do not let the GOP off scott free. My feeling is that it is those that are steering or guiding the RNC that must take the blame. Or a better term is "trashing" our GOP. The Repubs have made 2 huge blunders. One (as you say) not communicating their good accomplishments and 2, disrespecting their base supporters. (ie;calling the Minutemen vigilantes, etc)
Karl Rove and Ken Mehlman must be held responsible just as a losing coach is held responsible. The GOP has 2 very short years to get its house in order. That is unless we want Hillary/Obama until 2016. (check out "Cautious Optimism" on my blog) DD

The Blame Game

Ah Darvin...don't you think Bush & Company was a tad BUSY fighting the war that would keep no attacks on American soil since 9/11...turning around an economy that had tanked, first with the Dot Com Bubble and then the attack...trying to get a hate Bush slight majority GOP Congress to confirm Secretaries (like Rice), Ambassadors (like Bolton) and Judges (like Roberts and Alito)?

As for "communicating their accomplishments"...tell me--and be HONEST...do you think Clinton would have had any problem with the kind of support he got from the press that was squarely on the liberal side?

If the Laura Ingrahams and Peggy Noonans and Krauthhamers and NRO staff wasn't so in love with the myth they created about Reagan and did half as good a job of "communicating" the Conservative side as the MSM does the Liberal...perhaps Bush and Company could have concentrated on winning the war and getting a real majority of GOP so that a McCain and his gang of 14 wouldn't matter.
