Term limits impossible under tyranny
Look, the day of term limits ended when the Dems captured all 3 branches of Govt. and they will never allow them. In fact, with the next census, they hope that re-districting will continue their domination. Thanks to your son for his service. Blessings and drop by my latest.

(Hope it's ok I shorten your name.) First things first, I will be in prayer for your son and please thank him for his service. I will also be in prayer for you as the amount of responsibility you shoulder is an inspiration given you clearly do it with grace and grit.
As for term limits, I have been muddling this myself. I have yet to find anything that would not permit the several States from imposing term limits to D.C. from their own Sates. Assuming I am correct, I don't see any State taking the bull by the horn and doing anything as many at the State level are looking to go "...movin' on up."
What may be a possibility is that the Tea Party participants will decide that this is one of the action points upon which they will exercise their sovereignty at the next election and the one after that and so on.
Sorry to make this so long, thanx so very much for your thoughtful post and take care!

I'd love term limits as much as you, but to those career politicians voted in again and again, they'd raise hell to stop that from ever happening. With the government the way it is, I'd wonder if that issue would be demonized and thrown away like Obama is doing to our national defense. But who knows, crazy things have happened and the future is unknown!
By the way, I'll pray for your son and thank him for his service.

Freeman, agree on the term limits
Some of the worst reps and senators have been elected over and over - and probably continue to be elected by the unengaged, illiterate voters who keep sending them back. A few examples are Kennedy and Kerry, Pelosi, Murtha, Frank, Rangel, etc. They have morphed from representatives to professional legislators. It's their job now. The framers anticipated that congress would be drawn from REAL people who served for a term or two and returned to their jobs "back home."

...really glad to hear that you are able to be there for your Son. Hope he is getting better. Keep us posted on that, please.
Yes, the fickle elctorate bears, really, all the responsibility. I find I can't hardly even talk to someone who voted for Obama. I just have to smile, bite my tongue and turn away. What good does it do? DD

IMHO they are a Slippery Slope. To a certain extent, they subjugate the will of WE THE PEOPLE. OTOH some folks just vote for the incumbent OVER AND OVER. Perhaps with Secure Email and other forms of Cyber Communication it is time to have Congress Critters live at home. They would be in touch with WE THE PEOPLE on a regular basis, they would have to be on their best behavior and lobbyists would be hamstrung as the travel would make lobbying an onerous chore.

I absolutely agree
that we need term limits. I also wish potential voters were required basic testing before being allowed to vote. We are victimized by both uninformed voters and power hungry politicians. Bad combination.
Good work Sonny.
