Comment on: What Grinds my Gears?

Human nature vs Government

I seem to recognize

in the next to last paragraph ...our Congress?
Too many corrupted by power until all they are interested in is staying in there.

Our congress is becoming an enemy in my opinion. Terms limits would be the only way to get us back on the right track. What they are doing is much like what our Anti-trust laws prohibit our companies from doing. They all agree do act in a certain way that benefits each of them, while costing the customer(you and me) more and getting less. I think our politics is coming to a point here though, so hopefully the wind will push us right before a wave does it for us.

Skep just steered me to a story we won't see many places.
On Drudgereport.com the story is about the Reps refusing to leave after Pelosi cut off the session and sent everyone home. The Reps hung on for 5 hours after the Dems shut off the lights and mikes and barred reporters from the place. They were actually objecting to her not allowing discussion about drilling!!
Where has this spirit been/???

Terms limits are easy...

Just don't vote for the same candidate twice. The problem with this simple solution IS human nature. Americans are by nature competitive critters. Soon or late every campaign becomes about beating the other guy. Since incumbents are easier to re-elect they win more often.

That little spectacle in congress yesterday was a real demonstration in arrogance. In honor of the illustrious speaker I have posted an attempt at parody. Stop over if you get a chance.

Wow, I did not hear that! thanks!

We need those Republicans out in droves this next election if they are to have a chance.

You are correct, our laws for campaigns and our human nature allow for the incumbents to sit in there, even if they do nothing. Its too bad we didn't implement term limits for congress at the same time we did it for president. Why didn't we?

I will stop over
