I watched the show and it made many good points.
It appears that the Dems are neck deep in this thing, and as Darvin Dowdy says it's the Dems that are controlling the Government.
So why are they blaming Bush when in fact they stopped him from putting controls on Fannie and Freddie?

It's Coming Down
This great nation may dissolve into 50 independant states. It may amalgamate into a giant socialist union. It may become a vassal of China, Russia and all the enemies we have heretofore fended off.
But people such as Barak Obama and most of his supporters Hate the United States of America and have only the desire to destroy the United States of America. The haters of America have enlisted the support of the lazy and stupid as their army of voters. They have promised them the fruits of your labors in exchange for help in elevation to the highest seats of power where they can tear down our nation. There is no desire on the greater part of the citizenery because not since before WWII has there been any real, true misery, hunger and joblessness. That the people believe we are in hard times is believed by the people because they have never known REAL hard times. If these people gain power the people will get to know REAL hard times. Larry Lunchbucket listens to Obama and starts to believe he has it bad. Larry Lunchbucket had better wake up. The Soviet Union dissolved peacably because we were not/are not aggressors. If the union of the United States of America dissolves we will be totally destroyed by foreign enemies we did not destroy when we had the chance.....

The Dems are getting so bold with their lies it's as if they don't care what we think. Just like when Finestian said that 85% of the people were against the bail out. But THEY didn't know what they were talking about!
I think there is far more to the Obama, Franks, Dodd, connection than we know. What gets me is that NO Republicans investigate or even call them out!

Now, the Asman report did have some experts putting the blame on the dems for this fiasco. Dodd, Schumer, Obama, Clinton, Franks, were all mentioned and implicated. They had their hands in the till big time.

Yes, I think I can see the point. Depression lasting 'til 1954? Yeah, it was about that time that highly motivated WWII vets were getting done with their educations and starting businesses and going to work and kick starting the American economy with good old Capitalism. Also the point about FDR taxing businesses out of business. Scary stuff.

There is no way. When you take away the incentives of success, there will be no success. We'll all be fighting over the few scraps available. Abundance will be gone. Of course, if we're in a depression after Jan. 20, everyone will want the Pres, (whoever it is) to do SOMETHING. That's usually when the government does exactly the wrong thing, like trying to control the monster economy, instead of turning it loose. As you know, turning it loose is the ONLY thing that works.

We are in serious trouble if O gets in. Lets see raise taxes on businesses, and if you don't expect them to raise the cost of what they sell to pay for those new tax rates or taxes then you don't have any idea about running a business and you are a complete a**. Any body in business is in it to make money not give it all to the Government.
Isn't it strange that the economy was doing fine under Bush and a Republican house and senate, now the dems are in control and look at what we got. And they have the nerve to say it's Bush's fault. Duh.

This is exactly what Obama plans to do, so what can we think except that we could head in the same direction as the great depression.
It's such a stupid idea to begin with. Why the dems can't see that taxing businesses more just sends more of them overseas is beyond me. It seems like common sense would tell you that.

Your point is good. Of course, the businesses who decide to "stay" here will have to pass that extra tax cost off to consumers. If they want to make a profit and stay in business that is their only recourse other than moving out of the country.
Another good point you made is how well the economy was doing until the dems took control. I think the dems were just waiting for the opportunity for this mess they created to come out right before the election so they can blame it on Bush, just like Pelosi did during her speech, "8 years of a failed Bush policy". William Jefferson promises his constituents more welfare, cheaper section 8 housing free cheese and sterile crack pipes or something. Great Post Pep. On the other hand, could sopmeone show me where the "free cheese" clause is in the Constitutiton? I've been looking for it for the last 39 years and have yet to find it.
I am beginning to think it is the regular people like us - ordinary citizens who are informed and sek to inform others - who are the only ones who can really save this republic. Washington stopped listening a long time ago. With very, very few exceptions, they all need to go. 2008 might se the Dems take more seats. If so that cuopleed with more govt. medling in the economy will make things mcuh, much worse - and the media will hype it up. This will make 2010 ripe for a new and true conservative revolution - and I do not mean Republican - I mean conservative.
I may decide in the end to hold my nose for McCain to buy some time, but barring that possibility I have no confidence in the GOP. they have long ago sold out their principles and it is time for them to either make a decisive turn to the right or to wither away and become part of the Democrat Party - perhaps they already have.

In the meantime, I will vote for McCain in an effort to keep Obama from getting in. It will be hard enough to make conservative changes with a Republican President. But at least we would have a shot at it.
If Obama gets in with a Dem/Socialist majority. The Conservative's won't stand a chance. It will be Socialism all the way. And it may take an armed revolution to dislodge them.
So I say, stop them at the beginning if we can. Don't let them get a stronger foothold than they already have!

This reminded me that many of the problems have Chucky-sleeze-Schumer’s fingerprints all over them. Freddie and Fannie – ‘we don’t need no stinking questions’. From 2005: “Things are good in the housing business”… why are people proposing radical change?
Then earlier this year he was front and center in Indymac, to push it over the edge. I never heard how many people lost money. But they defended his leaking, alright, like every other Democrat’s involvement in the problems.
>John D. Hawke, the U.S. comptroller of the currency (regulator of national banks) from 1998 to 2004, had more pointed words for Schumer in a story in the American Banker newspaper.
"If Schumer continues to go public with letters raising questions about the condition of individual institutions, he will cause havoc in the banking system," Hawke said.
"Leaking his IndyMac letter to the press was reckless and grossly irresponsible. I don't see how he can be trusted with confidential information in the future. What this incredibly stupid conduct does is put at risk the willingness of regulators to share any information with the [congressional] oversight committees. After this, you'd be crazy to share information with Schumer."
Conclusion every thing needs regulated except mega-GSE’s.

The conventional wisdom is that the cost of the war is extremely high and that's killing our economy. In reality, the money from the war effort is being pumped back into our economy, creating jobs and income for many American workers. Without these jobs, given our trade deficit and the outsourcing of jobs, where would the American economy be??? The war effort was a key factor in the 1940s getting our economy back on track as well. So why the rush to blame the war and criticize now?

Re: "Turning our country over to Marxist/Socialists to punish the Republican Party."
It is amazing isn't it. When Obama's entire Marxist background has been based on Hating White America, emerging himself in all the anti-American groups that are basically Communist with Communist backing. Not to mention the backing of the Muslim terrorist leaders that want him in the White House. All a matter of record!
Yet there are a tiny few of our own who think McCain is worse than Obama. Because they feel McCain betrayed the "Conservative ideology." They will let this Communist pig take over the Presidency! Unreal!! And some of these people Claim to be vets!
Well, I am one veteran who fought Communism in Korea to maintain our countries Freedom. Having watched way to many of my brothers-in-arms die, and having been wounded several times myself. I'll be damned if I'll just let Communism walk in and take us over! I only have one vote. But I will use it as ammunition against Obama!
As far as I'm concerned, any VET who would allow this to happen is a traitor!

Speaking of the dumborats, did you take notice of what Biden said during the debate? He said he voted to go into Bosnia when Clinton wanted to save the people from genocide.
I found that interesting since he thinks Iraq was such a mistake, but the people were being killed and tortured there, and Saddam had gassed all those Kurds. I guess Biden thought that was OK for those people to be killed.
Such compassion for Bosnia, but not for the people of Iraq. And, oh yeah, he allegedly voted for women not to be abused, but the Iraqi women were being raped and tortured and he didn't see anything wrong with that apparently.

It makes me nauseated that some Americans cannot see the danger this Black Messiah poses to the country if he's elected. I'm sick of reading that "voting for a third party is NOT a vote for Obama!" That irrational, convoluted thinking boggles the mind!
For instance they rationalize that if they vote for Barr. That is a vote for “Barr” not Obama! And they do this knowing that Barr has no chance whatever of being elected! So that vote is wasted. They may as well not vote at all. And not voting for McCain is as good as giving the election to Obama on a silver platter!
These people think that the 700 billion dollar Bail-Out is bad and is socialism. But completely ignore the fact that Obama IS a socialist with a communist background!
Obama has stated that he is going to TAKE 800 to 900 billion of taxpayer money for HIS World Poverty program! In addition to taxing every citizen $2,500 a year to support the United Nations! And perhaps worse, he wants the United States to have the UN make all our Worldly decisions. Thus giving away our sovereignty!
He has stated that he wants to create an “Internal Security Force” stronger than our military! What is that all about!? It can only be the equivalent of Nazi control, and his intentions to put down any dissenters and opposition with Force!
Yet these people, in there sick way of thinking, think McCain is worse.

Well, Swan, I guess you must have visited a certain blog to get that info. I would advise staying away from there and certainly I would not leave any comment there for your own good.
Yes, I'm aware of BO's platform and policies so well described by Crawfish. I would suggest that you visit his blog. It's on my blog roll, called The Swamp. He has all the info on just what BO plans if you don't have every detail, you will get it all there.
An internal security force is a bit overboard unless he plans on using them for some very dark reason, keeping the masses down when they start to rebel under a socialist/communist government.
I see lots of people talking about it on the threads, plus Thomas Sowell has had good columns on Obama if you haven't read Sowell. Now he's a black man calling out another black. So I wonder if certain people would call him a racist too.
Turning our sovereignty over to the UN should make most people in America shake in their boots, but I think there are many people who are unaware of his policies or don't seem to care.
I also can't believe that people would allow this BO to just take the WH with all the information that is out there about him. All you have to do is read his own books to see what the man's about. But there are some reporters who have dug even further, like Stanley Kurtz, who has found out that Obama is not just an associate of Bill Ayers, the terrorist, but an ally. Sowell states that in his most recent article.
But, unfortunately if you believe the truth you are called a fear mongerer and a race baitor. It's disgusting.

Scare Tactics on the Asman Report.
So it was big business that caused the great depression and hurt so many American people?
All because they didn't want to pay their taxes.
I really wonder at arguments like this.
We had better do what big business wants because if not, they will make us pay more for things.
So basically we had better carry the water for them or we will be punished with high prices and losing jobs.
I don't see a whole lot of free society in that myself.
And that would only go to further hurt the image of republicans and conservatives with the public who would be hurt by it.
But anyways, this is pretty typical McCain hype, and I don't think your red state, small town conservatives have much to gain from McCain.
Now Sarah Palin however, you run her at the top of the ticket four years from now, and there might be some real excitement.

It was St. Louis where some DAs and some police were joining up with the Obama camp to keep criticism of Obama out. They threatened to arrest people over it. The governor was very disturbed over this.
Also a report named Stanley Kurtz had gotten the papers on the Annenberg Project that Obama and Ayers worked on together to radicalize all the schools in Chicago. He was on a talk show in Chicago when the Obama camp emailed and phoned threats to shut down Kurtz.
The Annenberg Project was to have kids educated in how to go against the government, nothing to do with education. But, the issue was it tied Obama and Ayers together much more than just being "neighbors".
Also Obama funneled funds from the project to other "community" projects like ACORN.

Just reading what you posted.
"This point seems very important to me. Why? Because this is exactly what Barack Obama plans to do, raise taxes on businesses. How many businesses will close their doors this time and unemployment will rise? Will Barack Obama’s plan to raise taxes on businesses cause the next Great Depression?"
The basic theme of the argument seems to be that if businesses are taxed then they will close their doors rather than pay the taxes, thus causing unemployment and hurting the American people.
BO's plan, atleast from what he says, is that he will raise taxes on the oil companies, and wealthest 5% of this nation.
I don't see how you could act as though my comments have nothing to do with your blog posting when the subject was taxing businesses.

How can you deduce from what I posted that anyone was against big business. No one here wants businesses to be taxed out of business for bloody sake.
Your point makes absolutely no sense. Perhaps you should try reading that book, The Forgotten Men, about how the depression dragged on and why.
It was because of the taxes the businesses closed. What businessman in his right mind is going to keep his doors open when all his profits are going to the government? He will probably move out of the country to another country where the taxes on business are much lower. We have the 2nd highest tax rate on businesses in the world. Is it any wonder companies don't want to conduct business here?
And, Obama plans to tax those making over $200,000. That includes a whole lot of small business owners who will not be able to operate or employ people. Thus unemployment starts to get rampant. Get it?
If you don't get it I would suggest you go to Crawfish's blog, The Swamp, it's on my blog roll and read Obama's policies set out in his platform. Crawfish did an excellent job of posting all of it. There you will see how Obama plans to tax people. And if businesses stay in business after their big tax hikes, guess who will pay that extra tax? You and the rest of us in increasingly higher costs for goods.
So, in effect, it's just another tax on every person in this country, poor, middle class, and the rich, that is if the rich have anything left over after he gets done taxing them into oblivion.
So in effect his taxing big business the cost will be passed onto the consumer. Not exactly a break if you ask me. You just end up paying the extra taxes in a sneakier way. He really has no idea what he is doing and will make things far worse. He says he is going to give the middle class a break, but that won't happen when more of their paychecks go to paying higher prices for the taxes he throws on business.

I get your point about BO taxing business and this making it harder for a few small businesses to continue to run.
And maybe you are right that it could do this to some struggleing small businesses which live paycheck to paycheck.
But doesn't that kind of ignore the fact that the business world is full of multi-millionarres?
I mean, not everyone running a business is broke.
It is out of greed that tax expenses would be passed on to the consumer.
My point therefore is that I don't want to carry the water for greed. I think it makes conservative causes look bad to people who might otherwise be for them.
I don't support BO, and you might be right about him being a liar and taxing everyone.
But what he claims is his plan is to impose high taxes on richest 5% in this nation.
To me, if your in the richest 5% then you probably don't have much to complain about.

If you were a rich man who had struggled all his life to build a business, I think you might view this somewhat differently. Why would you want to hand over the profits of your business to government for redistribution? That's called socialism. Somehow I thought we lived in the USA. Then the government comes along and says, "oh you're too greedy for making that money and takes it away from you".
Come on man, you're talking socialism.
Greed is relative.
Making a profit in business is what business is about.

This talk about Obama's tax plan is best described by Neil Boortz:
"You're going to lower taxes for 95% of the people? Perhaps you don't know this, but 45% of American wage earners don't pay any federal income taxes. That places the entire federal income tax burden on just 55% of income earners. Please ... we're waiting ... tells us how you lower taxes on 95% of the people when only 45% are paying those taxes in the first place. I suspect that when you start explaining your plan we're going to learn that what you're really proposing is not tax cuts, but income redistribution."

Great discusion here.
If I may add my .02 to it. It is simple math via class warfare.
First and foremost the argument that it is ok to raise one segment of a societies population's tax burden by decrying "fairness" is straight out of the communist manifesto. It is a distraction from the reality of proven economics.
It ignores percentage, because of multiple zeroes. Think about that for a second.
If you make $100 5% = $5
If $1,000 = $50
If 10,000 = $500
But the net result is still 5% of the income. Tax-the-rich folks use this as "they can afford it", and avoid the morality of redistribution, or rather the lack there of. They do this by saying they can afford it, based on the number of zeroes in rich man's bank account.
If it is bad to raise taxes 5% on lowend earners, it is equally bad to raise them on high end earners. I'll go one step further... Its actually worse. In a Capatilist society it is frequently the high end earners that employ the low end earners. To your point, Pep, one of two things happens when taxes are increased on high end earners, they refuse to participate by closing their doors, thus unemploying people, and lowering tax revenue to the treasury, or they pass the cost on to buyers, lowing the value of low end income. Thus a dollar is stretched further (read buy less) further degrading the tax base to the treasury.
The simple mathmatics, proven throughout europe and here over history, is that you cannot tax a nation into prosperity.

The people who believe BO have got to be very uninformed.
Besides that every tax payer got a reduction in taxes with Bush. That's another one that kills me every time I hear the "middle class" got nothing.
Obama's plan is pure and simple socialism. And he uses the class warfare tactics. It's disgusting.

Of course you can't tax people into prosperity. It's utter nonsense.
As I stated before, why should a business stay here when they can operate cheaper and make a better profit in another country with a reduced tax rate?
To even think you can tax the country into prosperity is as stupid as stupid gets.
And, why should a rich person have to hand over money to people who refuse to work and aren't paying any taxes anyway. What a nincompoop idea.
Greed. I'm so tired of hearing that word greed. Yeah, maybe some CEOs who ruined their business and left their employees and stock holders in a mess are greedy, but most businesses are run on very small profit margins.
I also get tired of hearing about the big oil companies making such "huge" profits when their profit margin is 8%, far less than some other businesses.
If we want oil companies to expand and meet our needs how are they going to do that if their profits are just "taken" away as Biden says they will do. Stuck on stupid.

Re: you're post @ 11:36AM.... Your right on! It's sad that so many people do not understand this. Perhaps that's because most people have never been in business for themselves, or ran one. The average populace lives from paycheck to paycheck. And never question how their employer is able to pay them. They're only
concerned that they get paid.
They don't understand the overhead that a business owner must meet. Part of which is the employee pay. The long list of Federal, Sate and local taxes, a long list and cost of various permits, enviro regulations, insurance of all types, material costs, shipping and
transportation. To name a few.
All of this must be paid for by the sale of a product or service offerd at a reasonable price.
What TNconservative says, sounding like a Liberal, is that the owner is greedy and just don't want to pay the tax's imposed by Obvomit. When in reality, if the cost of producing a product exceeds the price you can get for it. The company is failing and must cut back on expenses anyway that it can. If that can't be
done they go out of business. Obviously, no one benefits then.
Regarding you're percentage scale. It also applies to the Cost of Living increases. Only in reverse. If the average worker making $48,00 a year and gets an 8% cost of living increase. That is a mere $3,840. If a Senator making $150,000 a year taking the same increase. That's a whopping $12,000. But you never hear them talk about that. In their search for fairness and equity.

I wish Palin at the time would have said something about the going into Bosnia and going into Iraq. Apparently it was all right to save some people, but when it came to Iraq, with mass graves, gassed people, raped and tortured woman, not to mention the horrifying things done to men who Saddam decided were traitors, those people just didn't count for anything.
Before Bush went into Iraq, I was wanting him to go in just to get those people out of the horrific state they were in. I saw Iraqis come on TV and describe the circumstances and it made me sick. These Iraqis were begging us to do something. I don't know if anyone remembers that. Surely no libs do.
Yet they could easily turn their backs on iraqis and care so much for other people around the world like Darfur which is horrendous. They also forget that when the time came for Bush to go in there, practically the whole country was rooting for it because everyone was scared to death at the time due to 9/11.
And, still, now with all the evidence of what tortures were going on, that WMDs were found, yellow cake was found and exported to Canada secretly, the libs still tell the same old stupid story.
Oh, and they never mention all the AQ we killed there in Iraq. Bin Laden himself said Iraq was the center of the battle.

All sorts of horrible torture!
Maybe some will remember when an Iraqi woman was beaten in the street, by a man with a large stick because she left part of her face exposed. And that man was a stranger passing by.
Or the two young Iraqi woman wearing Burkas were taken into the middle of a socker field, made to kneel down, and were shot in the back of the head! Much to the enjoyment of the people gathered all around on the bleachers, cheering like they did in the Roman Coliseum.

You don't need a gun with your WMD. Besides those crutches are deadly. Michelle Obama would not want to meet us in a dark alley, even though she is just another sista thug, probably is good with a knife. But, no match against the two of us.

You are so right when it comes to Iraq the liberals are all against the war now. At the start of the war against Iraq everyone was for it.
What they fail to realize is that we actually won the war against in record time. Then AQ came into Iraq and started causing all kinds of trouble. This has become the front in the war on terror.
I don't understand why the libs think it would be better to be fighting the war on terror in the streets of New York and Washington DC or any other large US city.

Regarding your comments on my comment:
Dalgone straight, when they talk about faiorness they are just fishing for the basest motivations of humanity; greed and jealousy. Greed in wantign what you don't deserve and jealousy in wanting what someone else has.
People just don't get it.. Sadly we need to explain it to them everyday all the time.
I still hold my firm belief in the American people, that we as conservatives can show them a better way.
The only way to confront the tide of government is with a bigger tide of electorate. We have been asleep at the wheel for the last 8 years. Its time we wake up and talk amongst ourselves, about what we think can be done then move the conversation outward to ur spheres of influence.
Keep the faith!

You are stating an oxymoron, that libs can think. LOL!
They are just dumb and don't want to see the truth of things. They have been blinded by their BDS. To this day they are still angry and bitter about the 2000 election.

We vimmen have more weapons than you could possibly imagine. Michelle O does not want to accidentally run into the vimmen Mossad. She may carry a knife being a sista thug, but she would be no match against the Gimp, me and our sisters in the truth squad.

I'm with you! I also have faith in the American people to see through this Ovomit scam and vote to keep him out.
That may be difficult to do with all the Dim/Socialist lying and the Ovomit Acorn fraud running wild. Plus a few of our own turning against McCain.
Regardless of what the poles show I feel that most Americans see Ovomit for what he really is. We'll see in a few more days.
I agree that "the only way to confront the tide of government is with a bigger tide of electorate." The people do need to wake up and talk amongst themselves and pay attention to what is really going on in government. And stop accepting the politicians lies as something they can do nothing about.

They realize it I'm sure. But they have to stick to their Dimo/Scocialist agenda no matter what. So they argue and lie in an effort to overcome the truth

When you let us know about your new post, I have a new one too. Good news too on the subject of McCain finally naming names of dems involved in FannyMae corruption.

Maybe some of the libs realize the war with Iraq is over. I have met a lot of people who don't think the war against Iraq is over. They are all Dumbocrap's who listen to all the things being told to them by the party higher ups and the MSM. Notice when they talk about the war, it's the war in Iraq not the war on terror going on in Iraq. I read someplace where most of the Dumbocrap supporters have an IQ of less then 100. They believe everything they are told by the party. DUH! After all the party would never lie to them.

I think you may be right about some reporters. Those that work for a Liberal media just go out and try to find anything in a story that is anti-conservative or anti-Republican. They sure don't seem to mind distorting or completely ignoring the facts. It must take a certain lack of character to do that.
Then we know some people that like to call themselves conservatives that do the same thing. When they have a private agenda like knocking McCain in any way that they can. Because of their dislike for him. They will ignore any good about McCain because in their childish rationalization there is nothing 'good' about him. At the same time, they see the Very Bad things about Obama as no problem. Saying it's no big deal they'll just vote Obama out if he doesn't perform up to conservative standards. LOL! Yeah like they voted out all the Liberals that have been entrenched for 40 years!
They like to use stats in an effort to convince people they're right.
For instance you see over and over that the NRA rates McCain with a C. What they don't tell you that the NRA is throwing their weight behind McCain and are voting for him. Rather selective info like the Liberals use. Eh Wot?

You are so right. Stats, you can make them or twist them in such a way as to back up any argument you want to make.
You bring up a very good one with the NRA yes, they might rate McCain as a C but where do they rate Obomb? Also, as you said they are backing McCain. Sounds like a C isn't to bad after all.
