Rap

Rap is not music in any sense of the word. The definitions of music are as follows:

1. The art of organizing tones to produce a coherent sequence of sounds intented to elicit an aesthetic response in the listener.
2. Vocal and intrumental sounds having some degree of rhythm, melody, and harmony.
3. Any aesthetically pleasing or harmonious sound or combination of sounds.

Rap is a person speaking to a drum beat. There is no melody, harmony, or coherent sounds. The words cannot be distinguised and it is most definetely not aesthetically pleasing. Rap causes one to change the radio station and plug ones ears. At no prestigious music school, such as Julliard, is rap taught. The reason rap is so popular is the same reason why 98% of the population would stop breathing if Abercrombie told them to do so.
