Comment on: Where Are My Keys?

Think good thoughts..

Let Me Get the Jump On You

And say I've just been to LGF to check the comments section and there is precious little bile there, almost all good wishes for speedy recovery. Of course, there is also a fair amount of self-congratulation about it. And mention of how few posts had to be deleted.

And one line about how a guy lost his bet on the liver.

While I have nothing but disdain for his

politics and family history, I have no wish to see the man suffer.

I would never wish illness on anyone.

I'll keep a good thought (never thought I'd say this) for the Kennedys.

God Bless Him

Thanks for the simple reminder of my real duty for my fellow man.

Sen. Kennedy is a "true believer" in the liberal cause. As such we are diametrically opposed on nearly every issue that faces our country. I pray for him, his family, and his constituents in this trying time.May God bless him.

I despise his...

political views. Many times- at this site and many more- I have called him not only a traitor, but a murderer. I stand by those comments.

That being said... he is a part of the fabric that makes up this wonderful quilt of a country.

My prayers and best wishes go out to Senator Kennedy and his family at this time.

I will say no more in respect to this blog and his many supporters.

I would like to point out to Piker that the Lizards at LGF are not the drooling NAZI BROWNSHIRTS image that you project upon them.

Why would you go to LGF and try to seek out bad comments for this post? Why even mention LGF?

Madeline's Dad, Paulie, and myself have given our best thoughts to Senator Kennedy in this dark time for him. You run over to LGF and try to find some negitive comments about him to post here.

YET YOU NEVER EXPRESS YOUR THOUGHTS, PRAYERS, GRATITUDE, or whatever, for Senator Kennedy.

You sir, are truly a Liberal.

Perhaps I Spoke Too Soon

Michael Savage finds a few zingers in Kennedy's condition.

But hey, it's not like he's a HuffPo commenter or anything.

I'll make you a deal..

When Michael Savage shows up on my blog, and makes comments like that, I'll ban him.

Wasn't the topic of this thread "Think good thoughts"? Piker, if it makes you happy to go looking for negative comments from those on the Right, more power to you. I'm sure I could find similar comments from Randi Rhodes on Ronald Reagan when he died, but have no desire to pay tit-for-tat with you.

Again, thoughts and prayers to the Kennedy family.

Ameridann

Thanks for the kind words about the "traitor and murderer" Senator Kennedy. And thanks to all members of the right who have temporarily suspended that kind of talk. I always admire your ability to demonize your opponents unless their lives are threatened by illness.

Yeah, I'm a little bitter here. Though I am admitting that the left blogosphere seems to tamp the rhetoric down less when, say, Tony Snow is suffering from cancer. I don't know if this is necessarily worse than the epic flip flops you guys are doing with Kennedy this week. Taking a week off from sinning don't get you into heaven.

I can respect the man..

but disagree with his politics, no?

How is that a flip flop again?

Certainly

And you're a classy enough guy, MD, that I know you do respect the man. But look at Ameridann up above - how do you back away from those kinds of assessments to wish a guy good luck? You either don't mean what you said then, or you support traitors and murderers.

Again not directed at you, and not even solely at Ameridann, because I've seen this kind of thing everywhere. I guess once you've demonized people, you've burned the bridge towards wishing them well. Especially if you expect to switch back when the guy gets better.

Piker..

It might be good to leave the word "bridge" out when discussing Kennedy. I'm betting that is the event AmeriDan is referring to, when called Kennedy a murderer.

So Quick?

He's only been out of the hospital for a couple of hours!

Flip-flops?

This is a flip-flop:

"I voted for the war funding before I voted against it"

Not wishing illness on one you vehemently disagree with, and yes, even despise, is hardly a flip-flop.

I realize that it might seem incongruous have no respect for a person while wishing no ill, but it can be done. Really.

If this thread were about illegal immigration and Ted Kennedy's push for amnesty, please believe that I would be 'demonizing' him. Even this week.
But it isn't and I'm not.

And 'taking a week off from sinning'?

Expressing opinions, oftentimes accompanied by verifiable facts, is now considered 'sinning'?

My gawd, can the comments get any stupider?

What a maroon.

Throughout this thread,

and all the comments back and forth, has Piker expressed his well wishes and thoughts for a leader (and his family) in his party yet, or did I miss that?

I did that on my own blog

but I'll certainly repeat my wishes for Sen Kennedy's speedy recovery and another twenty years of legislation.

Ken..

Easy now, let's keep it civil.

Piker has been a regular here at WAMK almost from the begining.

While we don't see eye-to-eye on many things, I persoanlly value his point of view here.

It's healthy to see things from the other side, even if we don't agree with them.

Piker,

As stated earlier, I stand by any comment I have ever made here (or anywhere) about Senator Kennedy.

I also respect his place in American history, his family, and many of our fellow Americans who are his supporters.

I give my prayers and best wishes for his full recovery and return to the Senate.

BTW, I know you love to get your blogging ideas from here... so you can post about how superior you are at your blog... and I don't care. In fact, I consider it a badge of honor to be quoted in one of your post.

I won't comment on the Kennedy one though, because GWK has already said all I have to say about your post.

You responded to him, but have never responded to the few I've left in the past.

What am I, chopped liver?
