Jonathan,
Nice piece of writing for a 14 year old. It's good to see young people using English, instead of some slang that is almost unrecognizable or that silly text message shorthand.
The simple fact that you can't vote for another 4 years will cause most of our elected representatives to ignore you. Don't let that get you down, though. If they are smart, they will understand that your generation is the future. Before you could really formulate political opinions (opinions that you will continue to develop throughout your life), you saw the world change before your eyes on 9/11/01. My generation grew up with the threat from the Soviets (growing up in the 80's), and we're poised to take control from my parents' generation, who sadly screwed the pooch on government reforms.
I encourage you to write to your own representative (you can go to
http://www.house.gov and select your own zip code) and your own Senators (www.senate.gov and select your state of course). Let them know that you do not support amnesty for illegals, and that you want to see our borders secured.
Elected representatives (as you may well one day be) are either "delegates" or "trustees" according to most political scientists (I'm a poli sci guy). Delegates do what their voters want them to do, while trustees use only their own judgment. Most leaders are a combination of both, so you, as a citizen affected by the laws your leaders pass, must let your voice be heard. As a conservative, you'll find that the other side (the liberals), can project pretty loudly from their speakers to the elected officials ears because of an amp supplied by the news media (mostly liberals). Conservatives must be more mature, and more consistent to ensure the Republic remains strong.
