I knew these same people

four decades ago. Theodore, Glen, and Marcia.
Theodore took to heavy drinking after he was "outed" by a spurned lover (not a publicly acceptable lifestyle back then).
Glen tore up his knee his senior year, ending his pro baseball dreams. He joined up to go to Vietnam where he learned he wasn't the baddest a$$ on the block. He owns a bookstore and is afraid of his own shadow now.
Marcia went to be an actress and ended up doing a couple of adult films before disappearing entirely.
Knowing the stories of Theodore, Glen and Marcia, I can easily see Chris, Keith and Rachael coming from that same type childhood.
Which group turned out for the better is open for debate.
