Should Conservatives Support Civil Unions

Trying to get my head around this

So you think that the GOP should embrace imposing your religious beliefs on society?

How about the conservative Jews (or do only Evangelicals count)? Should the GOP stand for a ban on pork and shellfish? Do you think that Christianity is the State religion?

And you think that homosexuality is a "grave sin." Should they outlaw divorce? How about making adultery a federal offense? Should cursing one's parents be a capital offense in accordance with scripture?

You "don’t want to help them in their lifestyle." What on earth does that even mean?

Ultimately, you are asserting that gay people do not deserve equal protection under the law because you believe that the bible says that gay sex is a sin.

Keep up this imbecility and the GOP will find itself relegated to just Tennessee and Mississippi. You need to re-read the establishment clause of the First Amendment to the US Constitution. It is neither nuanced nor ambiguous.

Not having CUs is NOT discriminatory

Most states don't have civil unions for anybody. So no discrimination. The issue is whether or not to provide some "perk" for a "special" group of people. In this case, I say no. If civil unions are established, at least let it be voted in by the people.
