TEHRAN 1979? OR TIANANMEN SQUARE 2009? (REVISED)

Thank you for a great post (or collection of posts) regarding Obama's continued failure to lead and Pat Buchanan's surprisingly ill-directed evaulation of Obama's conduct of affairs.

Although there is a great deal of meat in the center of Buchanan's article, the beginning and end is pure fantasy or Left Wing Extremism on steroids. Obama is doing a good job? At what? Destroying the United States?

You nailed it in citing the ongoing and continuing strength of the Theocracy of Iran. I believe you. They will never give up. The only thing they understand is violence and power. It took the utter destruction of Germany to drive Hitler to his cowardly way of ending the war. These Islamonazis will gladly face death before surrender if only out of the hope that they will take millions of us with them.

Thank you kindly my friend. Unless the democratic opposition in Iran is well armed they haven't a fighting chance against the government. This would require significant defections from the Revolutionary Guard and security forces, or Iran's enemies (Israel, Sunni Arabs) supplying them with weapons.

If Achmad is the winner after the recount then it's probably Ten Square redux. Oceans of blood will flow as it did in Iraq under Hussein, Syria under Assad and Jordan under King Hussein who crushed a Palestinian-PLO led revolt where thousands died

A floodtide of disillusionment with the mullahs set in sometime before the end of the Iran-Iraq War in the late 80s. Most Iranians viewed the mullahs as unredeemably corrupt way before Friday's election. The election turmoil has changed nothing except the level of anger in the streets and the hunger for change. The mullahs are not the Chicoms, they are Islamic revolutionaries belonging to a death cult who, like Saddam, will kill millions if need be to stay in power "Let Iran burn so long as Islam prevails," said Khomeine who unnecessarily sacrificed 700,000 Iranians to fight Saddam after he offered peace.
