Aren't Judges supposed to evaluate Laws?

Excellent post, well written and cogent. Your arguments re the activism of judges is correct, but it made me think of something else: judges are supposed to evaluate and apply laws that exist, and if they are defective strike them down. Here we have judges demanding the writing of laws, which essentially puts them in a legislative role, and is a violation of separation of powers. Am i wrong?

I wrote on this very....

same subject, isn't this pathetic? A bold unmitigated assault on the sovertienty and independance of the voter. This is why I am a proponant of a judicial behavior admentment to the constitution... this should not be left up to states rights, this is about the preservation and authortity of the union to stay the ability of rouge judges to usurp the authortity of the legislature, executive office, and senate... I have heard there are several states [Kansas is one I believe] that are proposing legislation that will hold errant judges and their mindless rulings accountable. We have some laws on the books, but we don't use them... go figure? This is long overdue.
