Indeed Obama is not a messiah. He is Satan's spawn and you've hit the nail on the head; his goal is to reduce us to servants. He has no intention of delivering on his promises. His intention is to reduce our economy and us along with it and grab power. We don't and won't have a messiah in Obama; what we'll have is a ruthless narcissist king; in other words a pharoah.

I guess I would be must of a pastor if I couldn't make a little bit of a sermon out of this material, and I hope y'all will forgive me for the dramatization; but the truth is, with all this "Messiah" nonsense being bandied about, I pretty much had to be there with a better example of which Biblical ruler Obama best matched.

Though, with his love for abortion and the death of innocent babies, I was very tempted to compare him to King Herod.

Bobbie, as always, you exactly get my point - his goal is not to make America better, but to make us all clients and servants of the State, dependent on its largesse - which it takes from us, the producers - and to create a permanent Democrat election base. If we let him, Obama's policies will lead to the wreckage of the economy (and democracy itself) every bit as permanent as the Pyramids, without any of their magnificence.

The Bible reinforces history because it IS history, and the principles apply today every bit as much as they did thousands of years ago, because it is eternal - and besides, Satan knows no new tricks and hasn't invented any new sins. He just has the benefit of better technology today.

And as Mrs. AL points out, the best defense against a false Messiah is a relationship with the real one.

Georgetwin has a point about a large percentage of the US "being stupid". But this has always been the case.

During the Revolutionary War, only about 35% were in the Patriot's camp. The rest of the people (in what is now the US) split as follows: 30-35% Tories and the rest who sat on the "sidelines" and did nothing.

Personally, I intend on doing as one of my heros did, as recorded in Joshua 24:14-15. (I look forward to discussing with Joshua in heaven what he did and how he commanded the Army of Israel.)
