Homosexuality and Genetics, Pt. 2

Ignorance, Part 2

"A second, major issue remains in considering the possibility of homosexuality as genetics: child-bearing. The central function of heterosexual intercourse is procreation. All other aspects of heterosexual sex are subsidiary to the procreative function. The failure to recognize procreation as the primary purpose and recreation as secondary in human sexuality has led to the current epidemic in out-of-wedlock births in American society"

Please cite a study published in a peer reviewed scientific journal that supports your conclusions regarding out-of-wedlock births.

I too would like to see a study

As David does. It makes no sense. Having nonprocreative sex has caused a rise in out of wedlock childbirths? I'm missing something. As far as the genetics goes, we're almost done mapping the entire human genome. They have not found a gay gene. They've looked and looked and looked, so it's not for a lack of trying to find one. It will be proven that there is no gay gene. Wonder what the left would do when that is reported. Probably "do it again" like they did time after time when DNA results showed those "cavemen" weren't related to us at all. A blow against those that believe in evolution.

Genetics

"They have not found a gay gene. They've looked and looked and looked, "

One more time.

Genetics is not a necessary component of sexual orientation being biological in origin. The current theory is that hormonal levels in the womb are the determinants of sexual orientation.

There are three (of many) studies that remain scientifically irrefutable:

1. The more older brothers one has, the more likely they are to be gay. The effect is limited to biological siblings and is proved applicable to biological siblings raised in different homes.

2. While about 5% the general population is gay, if your fraternal twin is gay, there is a 25% probability that you will be gay. The effect remains valid for fraternal twins raised in different homes.

3. While about 5% the general population is gay, if your identical twin is gay, there is a 50% probability that you will be gay. The effect remains valid for identical twins raised in different homes.

About the only people who insist that sexual orientation is choice are religious fundamentalists. Doing so eliminates the "why would God create gay people?" question.

Now, having same-sex sex is voluntary. It seems ridiculous to expect 15 to 20 million gay Americans to be "Palm Pilots" or hornier than thou. Most gay people find heterosexual sex to be as repellent as you might view gay sex.
