Republican Vs. Democrat: No Difference

For the residents of Monroe, Harriman, Blooming Grove, Cornwall, and Woodbury, New York under seige by the tax money supported religious village of the ultra orthodox satmar hasidics it came as no suprise that campaign promises were made (in the dark of course) for their block vote at the expense of those of us in the surronding communities.

Both parties republican and democratic have dirty hands on this issue as they have abandoned us in favor of the block hasidic vote in exchange for your tax dollars going to build and maintain Kiryas Joel.

Fear

I've noticed that a lot of what conservative voters go on is unfounded fears. A lot of that is projected above. I'm trying to see things from your prospective. But, it sounds selfish at its core.

I do not consider myself liberal at all. But, I've noticed a few things. First, let's deal with Democracy, socialism, capitalism, and communism.

Democracy is not a synonym for Capitalism. Socialism is not communism. I believe it wouldn't hurt this country to make sure basic needs of its citizens are fulfilled. Yes, it does take the advantage away from the wealthy kids. But, it gives others a chance at the American dream. What better incentive than for someone to realize, "I have a chance". It doesn't make everyone equal. But, free health-care and education will breed creativity and innovation. The capitalism that we live is dividing. Especially, since this is a multi-racial and religiously not homogenous. It breads contempt and jealousy, thus instability in the long run. It breeds divisions economically that will get worst. It does not mean a person who works hard should make the same as one who doesn't in a culture that takes care of its citizens. There should be basic universal health care. And it can be better than in Canada or Europe. You shouldn't have to go in to debt to be healthy and learn.

Abortion..., um..., I don't care..., abstain, OK, whatever. But, I would ask how many of you good, Christian families that are pro-life have adopted. Better yet, how many have adopted a crack addicted or orphaned child from THIS country. When I see that happening, I will be 100% pro-life. Every family should adopt. Ideally, if you want 3 kids, it wouldn't hurt to adopt one.

The military is already weak. That is shameful! Now, what does that have to do with a democrat?

Immigration..., lock the border down 1st and foremost. Then allow temporary visas without leaving to all illegals as long as they come forward in a set amount of time. Then you know who is who (more than now anyway). Do background checks. If you've been here for 3 years, with no criminal history you can stay. If you don't meet requirements, your butt goes back ASAP. If you are an employer that is found to hire illegals (knowingly), you lose your right to have a business license or employer ID number.

America is no longer number one in a lot of ways. We shouldn't strive to be something that abstract. Instead, we should strive to be something else... Christ like. This country needs to work on itself. Like individuals, a country or group has a personality; personalities have neurosis' sometimes..., and psychosis'. The United States is a sick place right now. It's not homos, terrorists, liberals, conservatives, and other groups that are ruining this country; it is the fact that we have become greedier and selfish. We can be number one in all areas again if we...

1) Stop perpetrating fear. Our leaders have created a culture of fear. When in fact if we became introspective it would help. BTW, why is what Ron Paul said in the debate so hard to comprehend a little.

2) Learn to get along. Yes..., Christians need to stop being picked on too!

3) Separation of church and state... period.

4) Separation of corporation and state... period.

5) Better media accountability (while keeping a truly free press)

6) We really need to face our past as a country. Using the analogy of personality; in psychology you have to face your past to deal with the future. Same with a society. If you are a true patriot, this is the most important step.

Democrats

I don't compare Communism with Capitalism. I compare Socialism with Capitalism and a socialist society always fails whereas a capitalists society progresses.

Dr. Moon

Sorry I missed this one when it was first posted. I saw your more recent post and noticed this one as a featured article.

I am in total agreement with you. If you have time, check out my blog and you will see I make many similar arguments. I have not read enough of your blog to know if I agree with you on everything, but on the need to vote GOP I agree completely.

By the way, is it just me or does everything in Non-Liberal's post after "I do not consider myself liberal at all." give lie tot hat statement? I have rarely read such a solidly liberal position, even down to the point of saying the US should adopt socialist policies to make sure everyone's needs are met. It always amazes me that liberals do not consider themselves such.

Andrews

You're correct about liberals or non-liberals as they like to call themselves. Like you say fulfilling basic needs of citizens is Communism as professed by Karl Marx himself.

"It breads contempt and jealousy, thus instability in the long run. It breeds divisions" The non-liberal doesn't understand that Capitalism breeds competetion which is what makes us the best in the world today. Without Competetion we would be like Russia. As far as jealousy, there will always be jealous people because the grass always looks greener on the other side even if its the same grass.
