Excellent essay and commentary.

I have not been a fan of Lincoln for quite some time now. The desire to ‘save the Union’ came at the destruction of the sovereignty of the several States and it was permitted!

The destruction of the States’ sovereignty must, by logical extension, lead to the destruction of individual Liberty and Freedom. There can be no other end game when mans’ “natural” instincts run amok.

Thanx for this essay and glimpse into your life. I am already looking forward to the next part.

I slightly disagree about Lincoln; but we are at least on the same "wavelength" about him. (I believe he loved the US; but he was wrong in how he started the War between the States. Not that the Southern states were totally innocent in the affair either. Instead of secession, they should have stayed in the Union and forced a Constitutional crisis.)

I am also glad you have been cancer free for 20 years. I will pray to God that you remain so.
