Good video.
I've seen it but it is good that you have it posted here. The message needs to be repeated over and over until it sinks in.

I'm am really sorry to hear journalism hasn't worked out for you..... yet.
I agree, it's in a state of transition -- new forms of media, etc -- but don't give up yet on your dream; you're YOUNG.
In line with your journalism background, you'll understand what I mean when I say the YouTube of the young troop is "anecdotal".
Though very poignant, it's merely one guy's opinion. I also spent a full year fighting a war, and one in which I'm sure I spent much more time in actual combat, and I'm sure I could make quite the poignant anti-McCain video if I cared to.
Also bear in mind that support for our presence in Iraq has fallen through the floor, and that's simply a fact. This country's tired of it -- the Iraqis are tired of us being there and have told us officially they want us out, and soon -- and this failing economy has jumped to the top of everyone's issue list... and rightfully so.
Aside from the costs of carrying on extensive military ops -- and they're hugely expensive -- we've made no adjustments or provisions for meeting those costs. Hence the deleterious impact on our economy.
Are we planning on totally bankrupting ourselves to fight that war? Seems kinda counter-productive to me.

Thanks so much for your compliments on my recent article.
I can't see the videos because we're on dial up out here in the boonies, but I sure agree with what you said about leaving the kids of candidates out of things. It's not right IMHO.
On the troopergate thing, this is a trumped up thing, Keys. Read Amanda Carpenter's column to get the lowdown about that. It's another Obama camp led witch hunt and the citizens of Alaska have actually filed suit over it because it is an unauthorized investigation.
You know Keys, you might rethink your journalism career. We need more conservative writers obviously in the print and TV media. You just don't know how far you could go.
Loved the cartoon. It says it all!

Guys
First off, Brian you make some good points. I forgot that the vid was a semi plug for McCain but I in my opinion, it's worth it to fight an enemy who wants us all dead or to think just like them. If the Iraqis can handle things on their own I agree that we should leave.
As far as the journalism thing goes, I haven't given up entirely, I'm just waiting until it's not in so much flux and when it pays better to get back in. Who knows, TH may be the actual launching point of my career.

I liked the tune and I wasn't in the least bit offended by any of the lyrics since I couldn't understand a word they sang. HaHaHa!
Objective journalism may in fact be a myth. The print media has in the past, been more open about which side they were taking. Our local fishwrapper proudly displayed a block in their masthead proclaiming "Reporting the News in the Finest Traditions of the Democratic Party". This was present as recently as the early 1950's.
What has changed, IMO, is that kind of transparency, they were proudly proclaiming their allegiance, coupled with domination of the print media by a single viewpoint.
The media doesn't see themselves as bias simply because they all agree with each other.
In their hay day, most cities had more than one paper, usually with opposing views. That's what I have seen change.
Even Russert seemed to have to work at keeping it middle of the road and usually failed. The choice of words usually tells the tale.
A journalist might ask, "Candidate X, it has been said that your plan is a master stroke....." or "Candidate Y, it has been said that your plan may be very good.....". It could be argued that both of these are fair questions about competing plans, but the opinion of the questioner is clear in the modifiers.
IMO, the internet is much more objective since it is not bound by the pretext of fairness.

How anyone affilitated with or who cares for the military could support Obama is beyond me. I remember the Clinton Army. I am sure I am all the better for having undergone mandatory sensitivity training with my infantry BN. I wouldn't want to engage the enemy in combat in an insensitive manner. Obama would make Clinton look like a patriot...

Try aquiring a radio station, one in a small town or small population area. But this "small population" area needs to be next door to a larger area. Use the small radio station to get into the market of the larger area, while expanding your base in the smaller area.
BTW, I still don't "understand" the videos. My son-in-law keeps telling me its "an X gen" thing; I quess it is.

Yeah the Death Note vids are kind of a gen X thing, plus you have to watch them in order to understand them. I'm just posting them here in case people are interested or in case a fellow anime lover happens upon my blog.
And thanks for the advise.

Let Just Say It.
The Liberal Mainstream Media is just that Liberal to the point of being so left they are in the Pacific Ocean. The have lost not only objectivety but truth as well. However, anyone want to wager how long will it be before Obama says or does something they don't like? I give it a month or at last until the end of March.

You got to keep on writing. Journalist are needed more than ever before. There is a gaping hole in reliable information. You can do it if you maintain that standard... Making a living is going to be hard for everybody.
