McCain won. Of course.
I have no idea who Andre Rieu is. Should I know this?

Yes you definitely should know Andre Rieu! He has had about 15 programs on Public Broadcasting System. He plays the violin, has an orchestra, puts on the greatest shows which have constantly got bigger and more lavish as time has gone by, and finds the greatest singers to feature on his show.
Watch PBS wherever you are and if you see his name, tune in! :-))

I agree with what you've written. In my opinion the Republican party has lost their backbone and refuse to stand up and fight the Liberals. The Dems probably will take full control this election. And when that happens it will be down hill all the way.

unfortunately, Goshawk
it's sad isn't it.
it started with the first Rep Congress under Bush, of course, when they spent like mad and he didn't know how to veto. (someone should have given him a lesson!) It's been downhill ever since then.
People like the Alaskan reps spending pork like it was their money. I wrote and told one it was MY money he was spending and to quit it, but he never wrote back. :-)) I don't imagine he ever read the email.
Lord knows where it will all end now.

It is indeed sad.
Yes I also have written letters to them. The only thing I ever got back was a standard form letter.

yup
I stopped writing letters when it got through my thick skull that some aide was reading the mail and there was no way she was letting her boss see anything negative.
Just reading how much it costs to send notices to us telling us we are getting money back!
what a stupid government.

It's worrying me too how so few repubs are showing up at the polls. But, hopefully by the time the general election rolls around, some people will have gotten their senses back. If not, we're in for a downhill ride that we might never come back from.
I heard almost every economist say that if BO is pres we will go into a depression, not a recession, but a depression some of us have not seen before.
That is really scary.
Most of the right wing radio talk people have now started to support McCain after they got over their craziness. So, perhaps the tide will turn. All we got left now is hope as Obama says. LOL
I just know that when the time comes I will hold my nose and vote for McCain. There is no way either BO or Hill should be CIC. We've got too many troops on the line for those two idiots to be commanding them.

btw
When I got form letters from my rep in Oh when living there, I wrote a letter back telling them I don't want any damn form letters sent to me. Either Boehner answers me himself or I won't vote for him again.
Guess what? I started getting letters from Boehner himself. He actually told me he wanted to meet me.
The senators at that time were one dim and one rhino. From the dim, I got a real knock out punch from him when I wrote about the illegals. He sent me back a somewhat nasty letter. I stopped trying with him. He was not the least bit interested in what I had to say.
Voinivich hung up on Hannity over the issue. That was my rhino senator. I called his office and told them I would never vote for him again.

Yes, my senator is Martinez who has no interest in doing anything about the illegals. I get form letters to send and I always add a P.S. giving the definition of "illegal" :-))
I get form letters back from him, but pretty good ones from my rep. But then, he does what I want him to do. :-))
That's a great idea--to tell them you want an answer from "the man" and interesting that you should succeed. squeak gets the oil.
