I love your description of the statesmanship of Reagan and Kennedy and the makeup of their politics, Keep on blogging.

Giants?

Maybe we have reached a critical mass of government size and complexity where it is no longer possible for a "giant" type leader to exist. We have entered a state of managed everything, where all has to be analyzed, examined, tested and vetted while being run through committee after committee. We may not see the emergence of a strong personality with the power to command the country without first enduring a major political and social restructuring. We have an overwhelming number of special interests that command attention. These groups now have the power of instant communication and networking which did not exist in Kennedy's or Regan's time. Perhaps it is no longer possible for a single individual in this new world to sustain command and control for a period long enough to guide the country. President Obama has the oratory skills and commands attention with his charisma, however we see that this is not enough in a highly fractured and highly connected environment.

Good to see you continue to post your thoughts!
