Reagan and Roosevelt: No Comparison

The facts concerning the positivity of statistics during FDR's tenure are prehaps misleading. The reader should remember that this incredible decrease in unemployment is primarily due to widespread participation in the CCC,and later, conscription into the military. The CCC and other governmental departments created in the explosive fedral expansion, were mainly tasked with merely creating jobs without any thought of the continuing usefulness of such projects. Thus, consequently, untold amounts of taxpayer money was squandered on such things as the creation of roads of no use to anyone. This, combined with his intensions toward creating a welfare state, makes him distaseful in the minds of many people.
