First it was Harry Callahan not O'Callahan
Second his weapon of choice was the S&W model 29 .44cal magnum not the .357cal magnum.

It showed Americans a face of all they feared in the social chaos of the 1960's and gave them an American style hero to overcome it; Dirty Harry.
