Get Expelled: Evolutionary Thinking, Part II

Expelled EVEN FROM THE BIBLE BELT

This was such a FARCE, it was placed into circulation in the bible belt hoping to take the money any RUN. Those folks, ...even REJECTED THIS LIE!

A lie?

You're saying, then, that "Expelled" is a lie? Have you seen it? If so, what about it is a lie?

Evolution

Glad to hear you're working through these issues. This year's Regular Baptist Press VBS program glibly declares that the reason dinosaurs don't exist now is because of Noah's flood. Since when is it "Christian" to make unsupportable claims? I now have the challenge of making this curriculum palatable to 7th and 8th graders. Hope they don't miss out on Christ just becuase they're smart enough to see through the idiocy of such statements.

Re: Evolution

Thanks for your comment, Disciple, and for relating your dilemma. As my wife said, "Why are they even talking about dinosaurs in VBS material?" Not that dinosaurs are an off-limits topic, but it's not the type of question/issue you'd bring up with a bunch of kids. I agree with your assertion that such statements as the dinosaur one make us look idiotic and could well lead some young person to abandon the faith as nonsensical. Let's pray that this doesn't happen. And you have my prayers about teaching that class. By the way, what's the theme of RBP's VBS material this summer?

VBS

The theme is "Dino Detectives", as seen here: http://dino.rbpstore.org/

Re: VBS

Thanks for the link, Disciple. I think that the general topic of dinosaurs is a cool VBS theme -- it's something I was fascinated with as a kid, and I'm sure many kids are -- but if you're going to try to answer "the dinosaur question" from a Biblical perspective, you can't give a simplistic (and wrong) answer like "the Flood wiped out the dinosaurs." I wish you well in your efforts to teach this topic.
