Palin by Comparison

Palin by comparison

Great post!!! excellent comparisons. This changes the whole equation. As I wrote in my blog, this is stunning and shows McCain the real agent for change. He has also reassured his base, US, conservatives and energized the Party like no other VP choice would have. This along with his performance at Saddleback shows a whole new McCAin. McCain-Palin now have a great chance to win this!

Riddle me this

Where does Palin stand on the Russian invasion of Georgia.

How does she propose we deal with the destabilization of the Pakistan gov't?

How does she propose we beef up our forces in Afghanistan?

How does she propose we reconcile the crisis in Kirkuk?

What does she feel is the next best move regarding the roadmap for Palestinian/Israel peaace?

What does she feel should be the US posture on the World Court?

Palin = Real Deal

I agree. The "affirmative action" crew in the maintstream media would never stop to consider that McCain picked Palin because of her independence and spunk. The fact that she is a hockey mom is an added plus, but for THE reason for the pick. There were other women to choose from. He wanted a reformed and heaven knows we need that in Washington.

I don't know her stance on those issues. I'm not sure I care at this point. What I see is someone who clearly has a good head on her shoulders, and that translates, usually, to wise decisions across the board.

It might be important to note that she is the presumptive nominee for vice-president. Short of McCain keeling over in early Feb of next year, I feel confident she'll be up to speed on foreign policy.

If someone shows a pattern of good choices, I tend to believe that pattern is the norm. Someone who either avoids serious choices or makes consistently bad ones, well...

Palin is an empty pantsuit

Here's any easy one for you. What is Sarah Palin's stand on fixing the mortgage/banking crisis?

bryce1

Okay, here's an easy one for you.

What is Obama's stance on drilling for fossil fuels?

What is Obama's stance on the Russian invasion of Georgia?

I'm not assuming an objection or question about Palin is automatically a voice for Obama, but the point is that there is a candidate for President who states significantly different positions on these issues, sometimes depending on the audience or time of day, and he has 48-ish% of the voting public favoring him to be the Chief Executive.

As I replied before, I'm not too terribly worried about her stance on specific issues. I vote for people because I see a pattern of thinking, a series of choices that indicate a general line of consistent direction.

Nancy Pelosi promised us the most ethical congress in history - Palin delivered. Pelosi preaches against "big oil" - Palin pushed through tax increases on "big oil," and lessened the tax burden on the working class with the receipts.

The "empty pantsuit" comment is very cute, but it won't stick.

Try again.

And I'm sure you will.

I asked a simple question. Can you answer it?

bryce1

No, can't answer it. I don't really care what the answer is. I trust her judgement, and that's based on having read up on her a lot over the last few months after first hearing about her.

Good judgement usually yields good results. I trust that.

Hmmm...that's exactly the argument frequently made about the Senator from Illinois.

The same argument has been frequently pilloried by Obama detractors.

The point is, even if you disagree with Obama and Biden on issues like bailouts, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Russian Bear, Immigration, etc...they have staked out a position.

Four days from now Palin is being put forth as nominee for the position a heartbeat away from the Presidency, and yet NOTHING is known about her stands on the most fundamental issues facing America.

Talk about an empty pants suit!

As Joe Biden once said, "The Presidency is not a position that lends itself to on-the-job training."

I believe that is exactly what VP is for.

So do you feel that the experience issue has merit? If so, you might go with the experience of McCain. Or is experience not really an issue for you? In that case, perhaps you should look at people who have some history of being uniters, not in concert halls and stadiums, but in the halls of government.

Mr. Obama has tremendous rhetoric, but shows no ability to work with those across the aisle. The time he agreed to cosponsor with Mr. McCain on ethics, he withdrew his cosponsorship under pressure from his higher-ups in the Dem chain of command. He lacks the ability to stand up to anyone. He has great words, but no backbone.

I've heard the arguments for him, and I found them to be without merit. I based that finding on a lot of digging, and not on other blogs here on TH. His record is one of staying above the fray, largely by committing to nothing. He can't do that as President. No he can't.
