Also....it needs to be stated that Obama is going to have a lot of chances to prove he is truly not just another left-wing candidate. I will be very interested to find out if he ends up being as moderate as he claims.

Thanks for the post at my blog.
I agree with you in that I also pray daily for Obama, that God opens his eyes and gives him wisdom that he can be a good president.
We'll see, I guess.

I really did. Last night, I said a prayer to God that He help guide Obama to do what is right.
To reply to your reply, thanks for stopping by, I realize that all incoming Administrations play the game of stopping last minute actions by the previous Administration.
It's 'who' did it that has me very concerned.

How I feel "I Hope Obama Fails"; Have the entire post on my other TH blog The Right Way, [page 2, posted January 17, 2009 10:39:02 PM ]
"My hope, and please understand me when I say this. I disagree fervently with the people on our side of the aisle who have caved and who say, "Well, I hope he succeeds. We've got to give him a chance." Why? They didn't give Bush a chance in 2000. Before he was inaugurated the search-and-destroy mission had begun. I'm not talking about search-and-destroy, but I've been listening to Barack Obama for a year-and-a-half. I know what his politics are. I know what his plans are, as he has stated them. I don't want them to succeed."

I believe I agree, judging from your final comment. I am willing to accept Obama should he enact policies different from those he has suggested. Should he see the light and follow a course of smaller and less intrusive government, government which exists solely to protect the rights of its citizens, rather than to play nursemaid and tell them what they should want and do, then I would be quite happy to have him as president.
I somehow doubt it will happen, but I am always open to it. Should he change his mind in 3 years and come to the right conclusions, he will still have my support then.
Until then, however, I support the Republicans, not because they have been consistently right, but because they are the party most likely to eventually adopt the correct course. Should things change and Democrats suddenly start protecting individual rights and reducing the scope of government, then I would support them. But I don't see that happening either.
Thanks for posting on my blog. I will now read a few of your older posts.

Justin. I appreciate your note
I will be pleased to share viewpoints. This is a sobering moment in history, albeit of monumemtally destructive import.
I am beginning to seek insight into Augustine's mental state as the Rome that nourished him fell in huge emotional, intellectual and structural chunks about him. His dialogues with his learned pagan friends now begin to have more cogency for me.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the post on my blog...
I am praying that the Lord keeps the world safe during the Obama administration.
As far as every other policy that he propones, I don't think that "we" can stop most of them from being enacted. I also believe that every single one of them is doomed to failure. With that in mind, I pray for a quick and complete failure, so that the American public may wake soon to the reality that they have voted for.
Then hopefully true capitalist conservatives can do a better job explaining why socialism is evil and capitalism is a blessing from God.

What makes some of us think that he will suddenly move to the right?
He will be popular no matter, he will not have to "change" he is "change"

Hey Andrews, great points. The Republicans are far more likely to support the ideals we all cherish but it is time we really start pushing them to. We need to write letters, make phone calls, and demand better leadership. Our ideals are falling along with their poor decisions.

Jevica, I realize that the media greatly aides Obama. However, don't just think that the country will give him a pass if he makes extremely large mistakes. At some point, Obama will either need to abandon some of his more radical plans or face the consequences of his actions. I can only hope that Obama makes the right choices. We have to hope here, it's all we have left at this point...that and preparing for the next election.

I completely agree with your post. It reminds me what I said on my blog. Like Rush Limbaugh, I hope his liberal policies fail. But, I hope for the safety and preservation of our great country that he succeeds in so much as he is able to defend this country as the President Bush had for the past seven years. I will stand up with him when he is right, but when I think he is wrong, I will be his biggest critic.

Very good article. You are correct in saying you owe him nothing. I like you, believe in respect for the office of the president, but the man who sits in the Oval Office can he liked or hated as did Geogrge Bush! You are obviously very popular by the number of comments you get, wish I could get more exposure, but I guess the message I have is not something many people want to here. I agree with you that a move to the right is almost impossible. Obama was elected largely on left wing support and popular disappointment with Bush, were he to move right he would risk all that, and he is not likely to take such a chance. In addition, his own beliefs are clearly to the left, quite far tot he left.
My point was, if he changed, he would have my support. I don't expect him to do so, but if he did (through some incredible miracle), I would support him.

Obama's move to the right is almost impossible...he owes a lot to the far left groups who took him in and acted as his base against Hillary Clinton. If he does not move to the right though, he will be unsuccessful. If he does not accomplish something, he will lose the support he needs from middle America.

Praying or being Prayed upon
In pre-revolution years, American Pamphleteers produced the ‘reasons’ for our Independence from tyranny. A Constitution was reviewed, edited, and then written to inhibit domestic tyranny as well. Perhaps we need more local Pamphleteers to hand-deliver the American message of reason once again. If it catches on, sane publishers may take notice and ride that pony up the feeding chain.

but hope many of his policies don't succeed. With a lib congress providing no checks and balances, I'm afraid of many of his policies. Prayer ?
I can't find myself praying for a guy who gives shoutouts for atheists during the "Coronation." I can't find myself giving him a chance to ruin the freedom so many have fought and died for.
I know this may sound a little partisan, but you know what ? That's fine. If there is any time in our history to be partisan, this would be it. From every little comment on the campaign trail, to closing Gitmo, attempting to ram legislation thru Congress, appointing Tax Cheat head the IRS, well it's been a week. Oboy.
