Hi there Magnificus
I don't know why but I didn't see your name underline until tonight.
I don't think this idea is very good. These college kids aren't going to care about Romney and the campaign, just about making some money. It's different, I'll say that.

As a former volunteer myself
I spent some time dialing for dollars for several candidates and I can see problems with this too. It's not like the accounting is exactly air-tight in this field and I can already see fist-fights over who gets credit for which donations. Pledges are not donations. I think Peppermint has a good point too about motivation. Once you start paying "volunteers", they become much less productive. I once collected almost 1,000 signatures in South Boston for a Republican candidate in one weekend which is something I can't see a professional doing. They can never answer even basic questions about what they are collecting signatures for. All they know is that they get $1 per signature and are often pitching several petitions at one time. The best thing Romney can do to raise money would be to raise his numbers from 3% to above the marging of error. These kinds of ideas won't help.

Thanks Guys
Pepp... I only decided over this past w/e to give the blog thing a shot. I was perfectly content with 'responding' to and 'participating' in threaded conversations but found I was putting up more than my share of Looooooong posts. People tend to skip the long posts and, I have a few things to say that I hope people will think about.
Phil... South Boston? Like the South Boston part of Boston? Massachusetts?
BTW
How long till we hear about 'kegger parties' at Romney HQ?
