Good Goals
I would put secure the border first....of course, I live in southern California and our border issue is of utmost importance.
It would definitely be a good idea for McCain to focus on some definitive goals that conservatives can relate to and vote for!

You made some good points and for the most part I see the validity in focusing on key issues. A president should not have to micro-manage, which is what the nation has been trying to make our current president do.
I disagree with your defense point, (in my opinion.) There should be some fluctuation, not a fixed amount. If we are attacked by terrorists, we must have military in place and they must be ready. The other one I question is number one, you say prevail in Iraq, which I totaly agree. Are you putting a time limit on this? I don't think we can at this point. Just curious your thoughts on this.
Off topic: I think you were on a column the other day questioning the cost of nuclear energy, it is 1.7 cents per kw hour, and nuclear energy supplies 20% of the US energy today. Wind varies from 3 to 6 cents and has to have backup, the most common backup is natural gas which is 6.5 cents. Coal is 2.3 cents and we will need to import it in the future. (All prices are in kw per hour.) I believe we already are importing natural gas. I don't have prices on Solar or geothermal because it is only in private use in the area of the country that I live in. Nuclear is the safest, most renewable and most reliable form of energy to date. I did a research paper on energy for college for this year, as I am a returning student.

My DSL was down intermittently over the weekend and they fixed it on Monday. I now have a blog my blog back up and posted. It has more information on the energy information. I had written my post on Saturday to you in Word and quickly pasted it into your comments section.
Good article, by the way.
