Reaganite, it can hapen to US too
There are billions of people in China, Russia, Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, and now Venezuela living and experiencing the environment that coerced communism has brought. 20 million people died when communism took over Russia in the Bolshevik revolution, and 30 million people perished when communism took over China in the Boxer Rebellion. What is quite frightening is most young people in high school and college in the US have never heard of Tiananmen Square. This is already a true story in other nations, repeated millions of times. I get it.

Hi reaganite
It is really sad about how little young people know today about history. That scares me actually because if we don't learn from history we will make the same mistakes.
I worked in IT at a university where I had to train some young students to help with the computer work on campus and they had never even heard of the Vietnam war, much less China and the Boxer Rebellion or Stalin or Hitler.
It was a shocker to me to realize how little these kids were taught in high school before reaching university.

The 'side that won' gets to rewrite history. I couldn't believe my ears when some of the immigrants here from the old Soviet Union insisted that 'Russian' invented electricity and the telephone and a whole long list of other things.
Nice to see some sanity injected in the Acorn's sage with the Crawfish family next door. Leaves a tiny opening for some hope in the midst of all that change. This is just getting better and better.

Thank you to Reaganite for the reminder in history. It is true that people forget basic history lessons, if their school covered the topics reaganite said at all! I know mine did not! I didn't learn about the Bolshevik party and exactly how bad things were in Russia until college, surprisingly enough!
Keep up the good work! It's nice reading fiction that is based on actual historical events. I love catching the paralells!

Looks like you need to reactivate the patriots and the Mossoud (sp) (dem der badd motorcycles) from Juliet's diary to jump in here before the situation gets out of hand.
My Flemingsburg contact has the presses ready to roll in the event the Fearless Leader decides to go forth with the money exchange (script for greenbacks). We'll flood the country with authentic looking counterfeit script notes which will cause economic disaster.
The Blackshirts will never find the presses. They are hidden deep in the Appalachians and guarded by the notorious Flemingsburg 'Hawk (A former badd a** Special Forces dude) and his Kentucky riflemen. Dese hear mountain boys don't take no prisoners.

Yeah, there are some parallels that are giving me the creeps as I watched some historical things about Hitler last night again. It's been a fascinating topic for me for so long and even when I know I'm going to see it all over again, it still begs the question, how could this have happened. But, we know how it happened and the Germans were people like any other. People make stupid decisions and then go fearfully along with the way things are.

They are going to try to intimidate those Kentucky folks like they did the poor Acorn family. I told dem der to drop a few hints. Any attempts to go anywhere near Flemingsburg holler will result in total disaster for the Blackshirts.
By the time the 'Hawk (The former Special Forces badd a**) gets through with organizing his Kentucky long rifle brigade and Mrs. "Hawk (who is a dead shot at 1000 yards with a muzzle loader) gets through with them, there will be wholesale desertions and AWOLs among the bruised and bloody lot of them. To add insult to injury, Willi "Wild Beaux" Slocum will unlease his meanest AIDs infected ugger lager hounds who will chew up the Blackshirt hineys so bad, it will take a hundred Proctologists working day and night to patch them up.

Birds of the feather...
Introducing his “team”: like a new teacher making an announcement. I mean no disrespect to teachers. Its just his style that appears so formatted – gaged by his perception of his listeners – as scripted as everything he does.
Someone complimented where this is going. So I’d like to compliment you on where its coming from. Good idea. Could happen. The uber-acorn, fellow travelers might have several surprises about the guy they’d do anything to get elected. A certain irony in that; if they had listened and scrutinized him a tad. I’m picturing all the Diane Sawyers, Dan Rathers, and Tom Brokaws post-election in their comfort zones. Red seems fairly restrained so far.

Rough work in progress...
Main ingredient : four heaping cups of Obama magnetic charisma + plus one well fitted suit.
Three large bags of waste eaters, any variety (some of the cute decorative kind)
The ones that cling to anything that looks or sounds attractive. Sift out large, puffy media ones and add them at the end, just before mixing.
A few tablespoons of tart subtle attacks, but not to be obvious.
A half dozen controversial figures. Any colorful characters will also work – use your imagination.(as always)
Handfull of carefully selected cohorts, fellow travelers, and other wannabe politicos.
(careful not to overcome the main ingredient)
Add all the ingredients to large dough bowl, and sprinkle liberally with Obama’s Special World Famous Seasoning. Remember to add the puffy media eaters.
Knead till dough becomes soft, pliable and elastic. Roll out in large presidential sized board.
Take afore mentioned pressed suit, and stuff so its just full.(don’t overstuff) This will only use half the mix. Spoon out the rest on greased baking pan. (be creative on this step – think and act outside the box, so your guests will be amazed and in awe)
Bake all at minimum temperature, not to overbake.
Gather everyone into the kitchen to wow each other when you take them out. Be careful with them until all gently cool. Recipe will serve enough for a new administration gala or extra laerge inauguration. Enjoy.

Oh, yes, there are so many Clintonites to be blamed for all that goes wrong. I figured they can't keep blaming Bush for the next 4 to 8 yrs as much as they would like to. After a certain amount of time, that just won't go over any longer.
Leahy and wisdom. Two funnies in one sentence together. Leahy the leaker with Hillary and her knife close at hand at all times. This should be fun to watch, especially if the O man tries to blame Hillary for something that goes wrong. Bill will go on the warpath and start speaking out of turn again.
I guess you heard Bill can no longer give a speech anywhere unless it's approved by the O man team. That was one of the requirements he had to sign before his little wifey could take the job.
I wonder how quickly he'll violate that rule? He's not much into rules or laws from past experience.

You're cracking me up with this recipe. No we wouldn't want to over stuff that empty suit. That would be the first time it ever had anything in it other than air. It could explode on the guests at one's inaugural party not to be held by any of us, but I imagine the libs would love this. Having their own full sized stuffed O man for dinner or appetizers.

Absolutely correct. If one interrupts his holiness heads will roll.
Have you noticed there are only "certain" reporters he calls on his list? No Fox reporter will ever get to ask a question of the pres in the next 4 years. If so, I would imagine someone would be by that reporter's side ready to haul him out or make him disappear.

Now that I've revisited history, I believe history is revisiting US. Of course, I thought that when I made the comparisons b/w the O-man and Hitler and now we have the O-man & 'Hitlery' together, arm in arm, don't they look chummy? Boy, what a sight that was! I wanted to retch! Then everyone was trying to pair off when they walked off-stage, it was who do we walk next to, should we link arm in arm or goose-step?
It was like watching an unrehearsed stage drama.
Your stories are continually frightening, but very effective, keep them coming! Good work!

How can he ignore part of the press? (he knows all their faces too) Seems childish, no? How Presidential is that? Maybe they’d ask about his birth cert. Oops. That will get the firing squad, for sure. I see him look at his list.
I can’t wait to hear his press secretary fielding… er I mean screening all the questions. “Fox…How’d you get in here? Who cleared you?” I guess its back to counting the days until he talks to them. That will be 1460 days…. without a fair question. (2920-2nd term) IF that’s how it is with fox, boy what is Red facing? (they stuff another paper in your face to r-e-a-d)

The O man is childish. What's he going to do when he has to meet with one of our enemies who doesn't agree with our Messiah? I suppose all these so called negotiations he wants to do will be off the table and then what? He ignores them? Or does he bomb them? That could be a plus.
The press sec. is going to have his work cut out for him. He probably will have a list on the podium before him about what he can and cannot answer. COB is definitely OUT. Questions about the family dog are IN. Questions regarding where Bidenishiden is, are OUT. Questions about the new drapes and furniture are IN.
Only questions about the "Messiah"s vision" are allowed. Then we hear a bunch of jumbo mumbo never revealing anything, just as the whole campaign never revealed a thing. We're back to the empty suit days.

Right. We haven't been honored with one of his "pontifical orations" of late. I guess he's saving that for his Inaugural speech which will be lauded by the MSM as the most "historic, sensational, splendid, superb, superior, tingle up the leg speech since Abraham Lincoln and JFK.
The Messiah will stand above the crowds, wavering over them like a god, his head turned like Mussolini.
Chrissy Puffball Matthews won't be able to contain himself with all his tingles and wet his depends. Chrissy will bombast that the speech is the most exhilarating one and the most noble with all the elements of Camelot and a log cabin all in one.
The crowds will swoon and pass out from the glory of it all.
Chrissy will have to be carried off the set having the vapors.
Oh, the wonder of it all!

Yo Pepp & de 'Hawk! The
hills around Flemingsburg holler are alive with the sound of music this morning. Can you hear it? I can here in CO. Our fellow Georgia Redneck conservatives showed their meddle by kicking the Dems boy, Martin, squarely in the keester. The vote was overwhelming for Saxsy Chambliss, a true conservative, thus preventing the soon-to-be fearless leader from having, on paper, a filibuster proof Senate.
The same thing happened with impeached Will'yam in 1992 thus preventing him and the lovely and charming Mrs. Will'yam from having any of their garbage become law. :-)
Now if your boy Mitch can clamp down on the Rinos, perhaps some of the Troikas' bizarre legislative proposals can be thwarted. Of particular interest to dis ole boy are not reducing the Pentagon budget by 25%, not rescinding the ban on Partial Birth Abortion, and not passing the Freedom of Choice Act.
Long live the republic.
PS: I can hear the wailing and the gnashing of choppers emanating from the office of the President-elect. Can you?

I know that "all things work to the good of those who love the Lord," (don't have exact reference) and that your joy in the eternities to come will one day overshadow this very dark and grief-ridden time.
Who knows why God gives us certain experiences? But still, I think of my own sons and wonder how in the heck a person could endure this. Like your own Gethsemane?

I can offer the assistance of an old, disabled CCT vet (hopefully with a .50 cal Barrett) from the desert of NM if y'all need to reach out and touch someone! :) That and a brother with built in arsenal from TX (Crawdaddy country) and another good ole boy (only 350 lbs) from GA for the light lifting. :)
As for GITMO, it shouldn't be too hard to take over the entire island as a base of operations for the liberation of the USA by the ATP (American Tradition Party, copyright 2008 Crawfish)

God will keep you in His eternal care as He does your beloved son. Grieve and Mourn as long and as hard as you need. We will be here when you need us.
One day there will be a lighted path to a glory place up-above and all those we loved in this life and love still will be on either side of that path joyfully greeting us, praising God and saying Glory to God in the Highest, ABBA FATHER awaits your attendance for the banquet to begin. Our loved ones will hand us brilliant frocks and garments and away we will travel on wings of eagles with angels and the saints singing Halleluiah, Praises and Hymns to God. Jesus will take our hands and the joy we will feel would be unbearable for the unknowing.
I want to hug the Holy Spirit but I don't want to muss His pretty white feathers. Yes the HS is a pretty white dove to me. I'm sorry I haven't grown-up yet I can still only relate to people as furry, feathered or scaly hence I am a bear.

If it helps at all, here's some advice from someone who has been through some of this. The best thing you can do for Peppermint right now is to be a safe haven where she doesn't have to hold it together or be strong. ...I just got around to reading through the comments thread and found out about your sore trial. It is always difficult to know what to say at times like this. Add me to the list of those praying for both of you. I have only experienced death closely twice so far, when my grandfather died, and when I lost a younger brother to cancer. It is at times like that that Psalm 23 becomes so incredibly powerful:
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
May His grace and peace be with you and bring you through this trial as a trophy of His grace and glory. Amen.

Thanks for your thoughts and best wishes. Yes, this Xmas was difficult. It was horrible for Pepp. In fact we did not have an Xmas for obvious reasons. Only time can ease the pain of this kind of wound, which will never actually be heal.
But I personally thank you one and all for standing by and supporting Pepp in this difficult time. It really helps her to know how much you care.
As Craw noted, I try to keep busy even though it's hard. I find myself chuck full of anger and I guess it shows in some of the comments I've left on the TH columns.

Feel free to vent with me anytime you want. I gave Pepp my phone number for either of you to call if you just want to talk, vent, cry, or whatever.
