To all Toto’s

Eye Contact with Apparitions

I don't know where that heading came from. It just popped up in my so-called mind.

Toto is of course in the land of apparitions or, at the very least, fantasies. Not all bad, those fantasies.

Today I was speaking of the beautiful Princess Diana, who had a wonderful way of making sideways glances, showing off her beautiful blue eyes and giving her a most unusual countenance. Not many can glance so far left or right; she was expert at it.

I wonder if Diana had ever thought of having had "good old days." Or was she too young? At my age it's difficult to imagine someone her age wishing for any past time.

We used to say that all the good times were past and gone. How little we knew. But there were some good old days, and I pity young people who can never even have a sideways glimpse into that almost-imaginary time.

Is the world now made up mostly of people like the lion in Toto, who had no heart?

Sam Heath

The hearts seem more difficult to find now SF. Looking back so far I know what is gone, and don't see anything that took its place for the better.

Songs from and of the heart

There was an old hymn: "In my heart there rings a melody...." It was always a happy song. Then there's an old popular song, "Theme from Moulin Rouge," or what I used to call "Where is your heart?" It was not a happy song.
