"Giving Back To The Community"

Excellent tale, Keith

You have made the point and the Little Red Hen applauds. Thank you for the mention, but you give me too much credit. My post was not original from me, I merely posted it. But I trust that your story is your original. Excellent.

Original?

BMU, I have to confess - stealing outright from "Gilligan's Island" and "The Twilight Zone" is felony theft. I should be doing a five-to-eight stretch at the Chino Institution or Wayward Boys for that one. The only clever part was figuring out which Twilight Zone episode parallels Gilligan's Island.

And as a result, I'm going to have nightmares tonight of Murray Matheson in a clown suit...

Class warfare is the macinery

that makes the democrat party run. It's rife in the race card, death taxes, handouts to the worthless, inciting resentment towards the rich and duping a deaf, dumb and blind electorate into believing that the "democrats are for the working man". It's also present in the Universal health care pitch. Class warfare is indeed a weapon of mass destruction in the hands of the democrats. Watch 'em use it to the max in the illegal immigration debaucle.

Love the parable. Even a liberal should be able to "get it", but we won't hold our breath.

Giving Back ...

Excellent, Keith. This and Little Red Hen should be required reading!

What I still fail to comprehend is HOW people make decisions and THEN refuse to accept the consequences for those decisions!

I also get quit angry when politicians, etc play class warfare games. I could spit.

Thanx for the reminder of one of our core issues in this country and thanx for the clever way in which you presented it. Gilligan and Rod would be proud!

Kudos! An excellent piece!

Even a fifth-grader could understand what happened and why - it is completely accurate and describes reality as it is.

All of which will subject it to ridicule from liberals. It is too complex for them to get their synapse-challenged gray-matter around.

"It shouldn't be that way, they should all benefit from the communal coffers, no matter how the money was obtained," they'd say.

And if THIS boat were to sink and they are once again stranded, they will all die except the sailor 'cause he wouldn't play the entrepreneur again - he'd fend for himself alone. Although perhaps the group would kill him because he wasn't sharing?

LOL Keith

My muse was merely "ctrl C", "ctrl V". You at least had to fabricate something from the wreckage of 1960's television.

Way to go Little Buddy!

He did give back to the Community(had them rescued) ...what did they give?

Giving Back

Well done, Keith! I agree completely with Bobbie. Unfortunately, there may soon be far too many have-nots than haves and the work ethic may become obsolete, just as it did on your island. Great post, very creative presentation and a profound message!

Bravo Zulu, Keith

It is all even better because the hero of the tale is a NAVY vet. 'Bout time one of us made some cash from our efforts.

But Keith....

Does our hero not have any feelings? Does our hero not see the irony of his situation?

Quite frankly, your story lends itself to the reason I went in the USAF. Here's my view point:

Our hero "feeds" himself, the Hollywood starlet, and the Kansas farm girl. Everyone else starves to death. Our hero lives the "Life of Riley" with two women at his "beck and call". Our hero still has everyone else's money after they starve to death. On board the rescue/cruise ship he rents a cabin with a king-size bed and continues where he left off on the island.

(Sorry Crawfish, although I like Navy Vets, AF Vets tend to see the future prospects and correctly devise a way to improve their own lot in life.)

freedom

GREAT piece Keith. The underlying lynchpin of our nation is Freedom and the personal responsibility that goes with it. Liberals can't get their minds around that basic fact of life. I can't stand listening to Caday5 or other moronic trolls around here anymore.
