try to be scientists and engineers. Having been in city, county, and state government meetings where the same occurred (i.e., politicians "act" like they are scientists and engineers), it is always the same. They make fools of themselves.

In one state government meeting, after Katrina, I watched a bureaucrat "go off the deep end" concerning his opinion on engineering procedures in the gulf coast recovery. Then this little b*stard had the nerve to demand that the two engineers in attendance at the meeting support him. I stood up and said that that "opinions were like a*sholes, everybody has one. But in this case he didn't have a 'clue' about engineering".

The governor's representative at the meeting supported my position and asked the bureaucrat to be quiet (although he told me later to try and be more respectful). The bureaucrat was "let go" by the governor later that year.

This is what should happen with all of these politicians. They should be "let go". They really don't have a clue.

What you said is right on.
The EPA also tends to change the rules as they see fit. Their state branches don't even have a clear idea of the current rules as it is. I can't imagine them with as much power as the cap and tax bill would allow.
I read through the amendment. It makes it legal for them to change the rules and to make any exemptions they want. In other words, it makes corruption and cronyism an accepted part of the whole energy audit program.

Methane as a more effective "Greenhouse Gas" than carbon, Sunspots (or lack thereof), volcanos at the poles causing melting sea ice...not to mention cyclical climate change (El Nino/La Nina), all of which are independent of our carbon emissions...and yet they want to penalize the folks who can least afford it for contributing to what is ultimately a neglible amount of carbon in the atmosphere.

They don't care about the climate. Like Pelousy said, it's "jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs". She's right, because that is what we will all be looking for.
