How Mitt became govrnor of liberal state

How Mitt became govrnor of liberal state
If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. All that glitters isn't gold..That best describes Mitt! Why or how do you think he became governor in one of the most liberal state of the union? You don't get elected in a highly liberal state without compromising some of your idealogies. I'm not saying you should never ever compromise under any circumstance when working with the opposite party -- the problem is, Romney present himself as the ultraconservative's dream when he's really a Reagan wannabe. Don't be naiive readers: this guy is a closet 'moderate' conservative at best; a liberal at worst. Why don't you take a closer look at his record there. At least McCain doesn't try to pretend what he's not. Buyer beware...

Pensive

How ironic that with a name "pensive" you cannot think intelligently. Wow! Massachusetts is a "liberal" state so that must mean that all of us in Massachusetts are liberal too, or at best a moderate Republican. You are the naive one my friend. I lived here and know first hand what kind of man and governor Mitt Romney was. You're so stupid that you see all these "establishment" Republicans supporting the "Fraud" McCain and automatically support him. Why don't you be a little more pensive and research the candidate of whom you are so obviously ignorant.

My Big Problem with Mitt is...

for such an intelligent man, how can he just recently be a convert to Pro-Life? It even flies in the face of his religion. Tax-cuts? He even admits he opposed the Reagan tax cuts.
Mitt may be a conservative now, but it is hard to trust a johnny-come-lately of conservatism to the office of the President.

Jimbo

Thanks for reading my blog and your question has been asked many times before. Yes, Mitt had a "pro-choice" stance when campaigning for governor but he always clarified his position as a "very hesitantly" pro-choice and that he would uphold the law in Massachusetts. But if you saw his gubernatorial debates he often spoke of RvW as a bad law and defended the rights of parents- and support parental notification in the case of abortion for underage teenagers. This was quite a statement here and rang true with many of the constituents in Mass.

Also, more isn't it more important that he has changed his opinion to Pro-Life rather than the other way around? His stance against Embryonic stem-cell research was widely publicized in Mass. and hew drew much criticism. This was in his first term so, it wasn't a recent change. I have no problems with his Pro-Life stance and I am a member of Mass Citizens for Life and the National Right to Life Committee. His position throughout his career has always been more favorable to the Pro-Life side and I think it is because of his Mormon faith.

Jimbo, please look into his life and career and you will see a life dedicated to helping people. He is a successful businessman who knows how the economy works, and how the real world works. He is the only candidate who's has a real job!!! Believe me- a vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for a strong and vibrant America. An America who is hopeful and not despairing. Listen to his speeches and you will hear Ronald Reagan-style words and phrases.

Thanks again!!
