Christian Vs Christian Beliefs

Actually, Michael

With due respect, I am not the one criticizing anyone. If you follow the debate back to its genesis, you will find that Soldier and Gunlock came to my blog and insisted that the doctrine of the Trinity is a 4th century heresy and began pushing Mormon theology on a Christian's blog. So it started with them criticizing MY beliefs. Moreover, Soldier chose to misrepresent the Southern Baptist stance on Trinity by taking sentences from the posted article out of context and saying that his outtakes were proof that the Southern Baptist Convention does not believe in the triunity of God. That's why I posted the article, so show what he was doing. All I've done is defend Christian doctrine against those who have attacked it.

If you want to go back to the beginning of the debate you can go to "Unity through Diversity" Posted by aurorawatcher on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 2:05:02 PM.

You can see and judge for yourself who was criticizing another's faith first.

BTW nice post. And I agree with you.

Almost, Almost

Butch, I gotta say that you are almost there.

The trouble is not only that the trinity is from a three in one to a one in three form, but really who those three are. The Christian Jesus is not the same as the Mormon Jesus, and the Christian God is not the same as the Mormon God. Though the Mormon apologists will not address this directly, the Mormon God and Jesus were once men and have become exalted to godhood. Look up Lorenzo Snow couplet and King Follett Discourse, if you want to see this information.

Oh the confusion LOL

VD: . . . the Mormon God and Jesus were once men and have become exalted to godhood."

GB: Where as the "Christian" belief is that God and Jesus are the same being and that being was once a man but has become exalted to godhood.

LOL

Reply on God Vs Demi Gods

I may be really way of base here but, are we four all talking about the same `Christianity', that derived from old Judeism or Hebrewism or the Isrealites.
As best I can remember and thouigh I'm aging I still remember by acceptance of God the Father, He alone is the true God and by no other name shall I came him.
That Jesus Christ was and is his only begotten son, carnate of the Virgin Mary. Whom we shall forever deem top be our Lord and Saviour.
I was never taught that Jesus was God or vise versa, and never taught that he (Jesus) was a mere mortal or that God was.
I was raise Lutheran, Roman Catholic and Episcopal, Yes I spent a lot of time in Church.
Mom was Episcopal, and Dad was Lutheran and Catholic, go figure. We Europeans are funny like that. I was born here, in Ohio.

whew

That is one insane comment section aurorawatcher. I didn't even want to delve into it.

i nsee vwe are at odds

From my reading of your posts here, I find it very different from my upbringing. And this maybe the root of contension that only certain religions are deem `Christian', while in fact we all believe in one God.
In the old testement, Moses arose on the mount and spoke with the voice in the burning bush. His response was, `I am who I am, I Am he that created all and sees all. I am without name, I am the one true God'
In the new testement, God tells Mary through Angels, that she shall concieve a child who will come to Judge his people and preach his word to them first hand. No more interpretations of what I mean, his word is it.
While Christ is being `baptised' by John, in the act of forgiveness of sins, a form decended from heaven in the shape of a Dove, represnts the Holy Sperit. it also represents Peace and Love.

So you have the Father, God without Name. The Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who became man. And the Holy Spirit, in the form of a Dove.

Singling them out like this, the Trinity is one man, proclaiming his fathers love for all his children and the Spirit of his hearts conviction.

There are no three beings or persons. It is blind unwavering faith in one is all and all is one. 1 God, 1 Son and 1 Holy Ghost, Amen. Yet all together in 1 belief
