The end of American Exceptionalism

Good post. I just wish our government would believe in America and the people, not in their elitist minds that we are incapable of rational thought. This administration is taking it away through their complete ignorance and self-serving nature.

We need someone who does represent the people.

Have you noticed

that the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania NEVER says how great America is, but rather apologizes for everything we've ever done and sells out our friends?

Gawd, do I ever miss Ronnie!

Crawfish

The current occupants of 1600 PA Ave seem to view it as their duty to tell the world what a terrible place the U.S. is and to apologize for everything that ever happened in the world.

Maybe he ought to stop apologizing, stop alienating our allies, stop campaigning, and try governing. Maybe he wouldn't be trying to foist Euro-style health care and taxes on us.

I think

their minds were lost a long time ago-in the sea of Marx. I know 2010 and 2012 are coming but will we have a country to save then??

unsustainable

I believe is the word used by the CBO--of course the grus of the overarcing government are still living in their delusion that it can go on 4-ever.well, cange is coming(Ihate to borrow their line--but it works!)good post!Mgraves

I hope you're wrong, mgraves

People predicted the end of American exceptionalism before Ronald Reagan dragged Jimmah Carter from office by the ear and proved them wrong.

So, I hope your prediction is as wrong as the earlier one.

But, it's hard to hold out a LOT of hope when the ruling party is not just in power during the event, but actively choreographing it.

Patriot, Pen, PDX

Patriot--exactly

Pen--unfortunately, they have to attempt to drag the country into their fantasy world

PDX--I hope I'm wrong, also.

America

It may be the end of American and western exceptionalism, but i don't think it's the end of western culture, it cannot be, it's has survived far worse in the last 2000 years.
