Love Ya, Ron, But . . .

Ron Paul

Dave,

I have to agree with you. Paul's adherence to the Constitution is nobel, but he does not understand the war on islamofacism or the dangerous world in which we live. Radical libertarians seem to think that either money, trade, or isolation will prevent war and terror. It just is not so.

My other problem with Ron Paul is that Paul and the other radical libertarians do not appreciate that the unborn are human beings with the same right to life as adult human beings. Protecting the right to life is one of the few things even a minimal government should do.

Merry Christmas.

Trinitarian Don - aka Donald McConnell

Agreed!

Like you, Donald, I care about the whole original intent, whether we're talking about interpreting the Bible or interpreting our founding documents, i.e. the Declaration and the Constitution. Too many Libertarians miss the Christian underpinnings of our nation and, thus, the original intent of the Founders. How can you, for example, allow for abortion when the Declaration itself speaks of all persons having the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? You've denied all of those rights when you've terminated those folks in the womb!

At this point, I'm leaning toward Fred Thompson. I like Huckabee's decency, but his position on illegal immigration counts him out for me.

By the way, have you had a chance to review Pat Buchanan's latest, "Day of Reckoning"?

Anyway, grace, blessings, peace, and . . .

Merry Christmas to you and Julia!

Dave

PS-I guess I'll have to build up yet another head of steam for next year's blog! ;)
