WELL DONE

One day, we MAY be marching on DC with pitchforks, torches, and plenty of tar and feathers.

george

I wish I could have made it. Imagine how much larger it could have been if all who wanted to but couldn't make it had been there, and it was huge already!

I also loved how peaceful it was, compared to the smaller liberal protests that usually end up tear-gassed and arrested. And how clean the area was you wouldn't have known more than a million showed up.

Good post. Let's keep up the pressure.

Eric

ALL the folks couldn't get there that wanted to. The Metro AND the highways were JAMMED. So lots of folks NEVER made it to the Capitol.

Great report!

We had our own event to take care of in Filthadelphia. Otherwise, the Crawfish Clan would have descended upon DC.

I just changed the days that I'm posting The Claw. The Weekend Claw will remain a Friday afternoon post, but The Weekly Claw is shifting back to its original Tuesday posting. Sooooo....SHAMELESS BLOG PLUG TIME!!!

Thanks, J. Allen Frye aka Georgetwin,

for the anecdotes and for your analysis. Enjoyed the former and agree with the latter.

Crawfish

Don't worry. We WILL have to do it AGAIN!

Georgetwin

Compare this with those fools at the G8 [or whatever it was.

Excellent felt like I was there.

We do have to hold this feeling to the midterms, and elect good conservatives who will not McCain on us. Look at what kind of candidates the party wants? Then they act surprised when they get two RINO Senators from Maine [for example.

Excellent

Keep up the good work. Taking back the house in 2010 should be the goal. I am hopeful, but still not completely optimistic.

Came by and read your post.

Good work Jeff. It was like going back for the second time. Thanks for the trip. (:-

Like being there again

Well done rendition.

Georgrtwin,

great report on your experiences there.

I have been reading Mark Levins' book and it is great,..it's kinda a slow read for me just trying to absorb all he's saying about the "progressives/Fascists" and all the other leftist orgs. throughout history.

And I didn't know Teddy Roosevelt was a "progressive",...which now makes sense to me now, because TR was one of the first to start the fed land grab for parks and wilderness areas, wich continues to this day.

Can You Put This To Music!

RIGHT ON! Thanks for sharing what was an amazing, uplifting experience for everyone involved! Well done and well written, GT!

GT

I'm going to try this again. Last night the comment sever was giving me fits.

Careful about veering to the left in DC! LOL! Good report.

As you know by now, the senate finance committee passed the Baucus bill out of committee, with the help of a RINO. This on the same day that the front page of our local lefty fish wrapper ran the results of a Mason/Dixon poll showing that Virginians are in convincing opposition to the health care bill.

It's like a gift! We are three weeks out from a gubernatorial election and our first chance to start the long road back.

Keep the pressure on! Our local Tea Party will be holding phone and fax blitzes, mini-protests, and number of other creative activities beginning Oct. 18th.

We ain't done yet!

Jevica

Wtite the RNC and tell them that if Snowe and Collins get ONE THIN DIME of funding, the RNC WILL NOT get any from YOU!

PatrickBohan

The Unions have come out AGAINST the Baucus Plan. We may or may not take back the House, BUT we WILL be heard from!

Bobbie

I saw LOTS of Tennessee flags in DC on 09/12. I went to as many as I could and inquired for you, but had no luck finding you :)!

Tazzmax

I knew TR was a RADICAL Leftist for his time, but at that point the GOP had DOMINATED the WH since 1868 and was likely complacent.

Dawn

THANK YOU! I only wish that all the TH'ers in attendance could have gotten together. The NEXT time, we will have to do better advance planning.

SgtRelic

IT'S ON and WE ARE IN! I look at it thusly. ANY and ALL Veterans PLEASE correct any errors in the following. HOW MUCH EASIER is it when your ENEMIES are shooting THEMSELVES in the foot?!?!?! Wounded are more of a hindrance than the dead are. These MORONS are doing OUR work FOR US!

George

That was a really fun essay to read, man. Great stuff, and very funny.

Kudos on being there, you loony conservative you!

BrianR

Wish you could've been there Gramps ;)!

GT

How did I miss this post? Great AAR. WE gotta do more, more, more!

Good post, Georgetwin...

Made me recall my experiences there, that day, again.

(Click on my name to go to my account of events, "9/12/09, I was on the West Lawn of the Capitol Building," posted on September 13th.)

Dawn, Bobbie and other posters have lamented our not getting together (not "finding" each other) that day, but, as you said, the crowd was just too big to find anybody not identified by either big signs or, for example, state flags.

To make things easier, I recommend the next time we do this type of thing that we coordinate a rally point (RP) ahead of time. That way, at least sometime while we're at wherever the event is taking place, we can make sure to visit the RP and "find" each other. For example, for 9/12, we could have made, say, the South side of the Capitol Building Reflecting Pool our RP, or a nearby street intersection. Just a thought for future reference.

Good Stuff GT!

Sorry we never could get together, but no one expected the crowd that showed up.

We got to the train station in VA before 8am, but didn't actually make it into DC before 11:30.

By then, the 10am meet up time at the washigton monument was long past, so we just headed for the capitol.

Chuck, you couldn't have been far from me and Mrs Paddy, we were on the north side of the lawn by the trees, about 100 yards from the building.

Your experiences GT, sound a lot like mine.
I met a Lot of pisssed off democrats, and former Obama supporters who had fallen for his "centrist" pose, and were Not happy with his current direction.

I also met a Lot of young people in their 20s, who had become "ex-liberals since january, including a lot of college students who were beginning to question the validity of Marxism.

I can't wait for the 9-11-2010 march, and have already registerd at freedomworks for next year, my son plans to go again, and next year we're bringing his sister too.

I'm waiting for my panorama shot poster of the crowd from Freedomworks (a bargain at $20) so I can try to pick our little group out from the crowd. :o)

As Thomas Sowell said in his column last week, Marxism, is an Ism that's soon to be a Wasm.

JPSavage

Maybe we need to meet BEFORE the next march.

Great Personal "View" of the DC Party

I am very optomistic about 2010. The reason? Some of the events at the DC Party you related. Conservatives saw THEY WERE NOT ALONE.

No matter what the MSM in general (and Hal Doofus in particular) say, this nation is Conservative. That kind of knowledge is "earth-shattering" in its ultimate effect.

As for Gunny's remark, I believe when that happens I will not be carrying a "pitchfork" but I will be carrying a more insidious device.

GGhost

You should've been there. It was a HOOT!

Georgetwin

That has been done quite some time ago.

BTW Liberty and Tyranny is one great book, I listen to his radio show whenever I can.

Hahahahaha, George!

Rub it in, why don'tcha?

"Gramps"?????

Man....... I'm STILL not used to that. In my mind's eye, I'm still a 35-year-old stud.

Wonderful blog today

I lived in Phila. during the Great War. Remember what you brought up. Loved what you had to say about victory and keeping the fight going. During the '50's went to American U in DC. Too found that city, even with evil liberal Dems in charge today, the most exciting city I have ever lived and worked in. Never give up the fight. Never. Drop by anytime.

BrianR

It was PURELY a term of respect. I WILL send you a video that shows my feeling about grandparents.

FinalRac

MAKE NO MISTAKE! It is war to the death IMHO.

Great eyewitness account - 9/12

I appreciate you being there. If all of us that wanted to be there had been there, I don't think anyone in DC could have moved an inch.

I didn't get to go...

...but thanks for relaying some of your experiences. I hope it helps. HOwever, little is being done to whip the GOP into shape intime for 11/2/10. They're remain the same arrogant, dysfunctional org that they were on 11/7/06 and 11/4/08. Conttrolled by moderates and transnationalists. DD

Gtwin

Excellent post,I LOVED the bit about the dog peein on the Nothing But Commies truck.Good dog!!

DDowdy

Then we will have to take out the trash.

Clyde

The ROAR of laughter when it happened hurt my ears.

Another Book Worth Suggesting

To a newly minted conservative.

"None Dare Call It Treason"

I think the author was John Stormer. I read the book 41 years ago but today it still would be enlightening.

Thanks, Nee

Envy

I'm jealous of all you guys who got to go.

What did you say?

I know I'm going to take all kinds of derision for saying this, even though I know you're comments are in the right heart.

Would you please, for comprehension sake, put a cogent sentence together?

Our enemies, the twitter twaddle idiots of political correctness and feel-good psycho/enviro- logical babble-crap will eat you up.

The masters of saying nothing with nothiing will be masterful in illuminating how you show stupid by sounding stupid.

Get your arguments together. Be logical and reasonable, or shut up, because they will tear you apart, even if their logic is ludicrous.

I'm all for standing up to stupid jerks, but if you sound just as stupid as them, they wiii always win because they are standing on the "I care" foundation that you can only take from them with reason. If your audience recognizes their own personal reponsibility for their future fortunes, your opponents " I care about you" entreaties will fall on deaf ears.

Converts to liberty are won by courage, not pity.

Liberty

I'm not sure what your problem is and from your tone, I DON'T CARE! As for being eaten alive by Libtards, anytime a Liberal feels froggy, all they have to do is LEAP!

Georgetwin

Shameless plug New Post at my site.

Georgetwin

I have no idea what Liberty is talking about, he must not understand simple conservative lingo. I followed your story as if I was there, in fact, I was only about 30 minutes away. If I had known that you guys were there, I would have made my best effort to be in DC that day! It would have been a weekend & easier for me to get away from my duties as 'Mom' & nurse. I'm now curious what was happening that day. If I remember correctly lots of labor pains, because we thought grandchild $4 was going to be born on 9-11. You painted a very clear picture for me. Thank you!

Str8_Talk

Thank You for the Compliments :)! Several of us TRIED to link up in DC, but the crowd made it IMPOSSIBLE! JPSavage HAD TO WAIT 3 HOURS to get on the subway. Don't worry, we WILL have to do it AGAIN before the midterms AND the 2012 Election.
