Comment on: A New America

America Renewed

Thank you killer

Thank you killer for your comments. I know there are a great many challenges that face Americans. Certainly, the past and even the present has given many in America greater skeptisism for their future. However, I believe that in order to learn from the past, we must create a strong vision for the future. This vision must support an America that we can all be happy about.

Describe great health care, great schools, and a great quality of life. This is what I am most interested in discovering in terms of a vision.

re-investing in america

American have inovations and ideas this is one solution I think will unlock it. Inovations and ideas come in many forms, but one form is in the creation of new businesses.

The average american has not much education on how to take an idea and craft a business plan that is compatent and will attract investment. Other americans simply have no assestts, and even with the best plan can never find the investment needed.

If the federal government took 10% straight of the top of its tax income and set up public education classes for americans who have ideas but need the knowlege of putting those ideas into a proffessional business plan.

On top of that providing grants for those who have perfectly lucrative ideas but no invester will step up to bat. 9 out of ever 10 ideas will fail but the "1" success I think will pay for for the 9 which failed over the life of the bizz plus much more.

Since the government is good at throwing away millions at least this way you can help others who sincerly wish to help them selves. Over time statistically the tax base of the country will increase.

Citizen

I agree with you citizen in terms of utilizing the federal government to finance business ideas. My understanding is that the US government does do financing to some extent. Through the Certified Contractors Registry of the Small Business Development Center, small businesses are able to do government contract work, then factor their recieveable for up-front cash to build their business with.

Saving Our Country

Our first president George Washington did not want a two party congress. He said "that will RUIN the country". He had good insight, My point is that We The People vote them in. Aren't we to blame for the mishandling of our Country? If we hired a nanny and she abused the children would we keep calling her back for 30 or 40 years. Shame on us. I think we all got lazy and let all branches of government do whatever they wanted. Now I just hope we can all wake up and Clean House.(no pun intended).

Excelent Points Noni

I agree that the two party system of congress is a great challenge. Perhaps, it is the ever increasing complexity of our world that causes people to try and measure everything. The Democrats measuring a liberal target audience and the Republicans measuring a conservative target audience with people who are somewhere in the middle. While there are abuses, it seems that there are structures put in place out of necessity. Unfortunately, it is now tradition that Congress have at least two parties. The only way to break tradition is to create a better tradition. Do you have any ideas on how to create a better tradition that people can rally behind?

Please Support Sarah Palin 4 V-P

Dear Utahn and Blogger:

There's a national effort going on to get the eventual Republican nominee for President to be Alaska's extremely popular governor, Sarah Palin, as his vice-presidential nominee. We believe Sarah's presence on the ticket would enhance the GOP's chances of winning a tough race against the Democrats.

Sarah was born in Sandpoint and educated in Idaho. She's married to an Alaska fisherman and is the mother of four children.

Won't you please support this effort, one led by bloggers and not associated in any way with the Governor or her staff? We'd like to have you talk up Sarah's candidacy and associate your blog with the many others now backing her.

On my own site, there are several articles about why we're supporting Sarah. If you want to join with us, please either send me an e-mail (TalkTop65@aol.com) or use the comments section my blog: http://camp2008victory.townhall.com

You have a chance to put Alaska right at the fore-front of national politics, and we urge you to do so. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Renewed America indeed

After 10 plus years from divorce I re-discovering fatherhood once again. My daughter is only a couple of years away from being on her own. Re-orienting my full attention on being part of a family again has been a blessing. The Lord has renewed my devotion to family again. I pray that America shall also renew their devotion back to God and country.

Become A Local News Editor For Your Town

Editors are being recruited in local areas and the company expects to have 5,000 local editors licensed by the end of November 2008.
OurTown includes an economic model through which editors can sell local advertising and receive 100% of the revenues, plus receive 40% of national advertising revenues.
It is this unique business model that portends success.
OurTown.com has captured the interest of people who have been using the internet at grassroots levels. They’ve been on social networking sites, adding their opinions to blogs,
commenting at local news sites. All for nothing. Now they have an opportunity to be paid.
"We’re starting to hear from journalists, bloggers, teachers, realtors, and ‘mompreneurs’in different communities across the United States," according to OurTown executive Daryl Rhodes. "Every OurTown site allows the local editors to provide their own local content -- such as information on school news and sporting events, weddings, personal narratives, blogs, church news, opinion forums and community activities and calendars.
But OurTown is not limited to hyperlocal news. The OurTown.com sites include content from Newser, Oodle and Yelp; state, national and international news from the New York
Times, RSS feeds and more. Weather, lottery and other news are focused on local areas.
Free classified advertising is expected to bring additional traffic. Local search, calendars and other features add interactivity.
"Local editors then can expand websites into their own functional and profitable business," said Rhodes. "Local editors can earn more than $50,000 a year depending upon the number of local ads sold and the amount of traffic they generate for their sites."
