Why The BCS is Good for College Football

BCSBS

While I'm not certain that NCAA football has all that much integrity to maintain, I find many of your defenses of the BCS system quite legitimate. I also find your distain for sports media bracing and, if anything, restrained to a point of undeserved civility. However, if it is a sense of finality about championships you desire, and thereby an excommunication of the chattering elites in its determination, why not an eight-team tournament, conducted in the six week interval between end of season and New Years tradional Bowls, with those "big four bowls" alternating the Championship game? A little BCS with some bells and whistles, if you will.
I'm certain current coaching budgets allow for the ability to prep for two possible opponents at a time. Travel plans would be made easy with determined destinations. The price of tickets alone could render the possibility of a "home" advantage easy to tweek with minor adjustments. As for Cinderella, she isn't man enough for this tussle anyway. Besides, if, as you say, she is headed for Glendale this year, she is cleverly disguised as a Buckeye or a Trojan, and her eventual suitor is in for a hell of a surprise.
