You're not following the Jackson/Sharpton manual for black folks. You aound like an intelligent, reasoned, individual that would be a good host for an honest discussion about race over a beer, a single malt, or a lemonade. I'm afraid that the Republican party still is not comfortable with addressing black folks honestly and without condescension, even with Michael Steele as its head. I agree that the truth about the history of treatment of blacks by both parties - told often enough - could finally gain some support.

I don't believe the problem is republicans not speaking clearly enough, but that the democrats are translating FOR the Black community to hear what they want them to hear. ie its not our (dem) policies that have hurt you, but the misdeeds of the reps that HAVE hurt you.
