Palin's Big Debate: Truth or Dare?

Hi Cindy

I saw your comment on the Grill and came over to check out your blog. Thanks for the visit and don't know if you noticed, you're just a county or two over from where I live. Anyway, FYI, Palin had pretty good interview on Hugh Hewitt's show today. You should be able to listen to the podcast if you missed it. I sure hope she can cut old Biden up a bit on Thursday. Looking forward to it.

Cindy

Outstanding post!

I am moved by your plea to her. It is absoluetly true we will forgive her much, but not being false with us.

I am hopeful but reserved.

keep the faith!

Hey, neighbor Bob -

I definitely noticed that you addressed Pete Sessions, and am familiar with him. I heard Palin's interview with Hewitt, and wish that she had been scheduled on more of the conservative talk shows in preparation for her MSM hits, but...frankly, no one's asking me!
Fire up the grill, and we'll enjoy a nice, neighborly cook-out with Biden on the menu tomorrow.
Thank you for stopping in - I read your blog, too, and lots of your comments on other.

Right Brainer chooses "Truth"!

Yeah! Another vote for "Truth" in my Truth or Dare game!
Can someone pass my note across to her seat? Don't let the teacher see us....
I've got faith...never fear!

Palin's problem(s)

Early on, Governor Sarah Palin came across as genuine, knowledgeable, self-confident and assertive. Continuing that becomes increasingly problematic as she plays her second-banana role behind a stilted, often-ignorant, self-esteem challenged and waffling top-banana, John McCain.

Tonight her "debate" with Democrat counterpart Joe Biden will be "moderated" by PBS' Gwen Ifill, who swoons and gushes over Back Obama, and has a book scheduled to debut on Obama's inauguration day. The should-be-neutral "moderator", already biased and in-the-tank for Palin's opponents, now adds a financial-incentive motive to what guides her demeanor.

McCain would try to seek justice for himself in tonight's debate, ask for fairness and respect. What, in my almost-always-humble opinion, Palin needs to do is to bring both opponents -- Biden and Ifill --, not to justice, but to their knees.

drpete - Palin's good at this

This situation is tailor-made for Palin...if Ms. Ifill is not forced to disclose her interest in her upcoming book at the outset of the debate Thursday night, then Palin will be able to use it like a black-belt using someone's supposed strength against them. She's great with the tongue-in-cheek comment (better than Obama, that's for sure!) and will do it with a smile - so that no one will be able to tell with certainty if she was sincere or not. Perhaps she can actually congratulate Ms. Ifill on her upcoming book and ask for an autographed copy!
That would be beautiful!
When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. I think she might be good at that.

You said it!

Great post, Cindy!
I worry about this debate so much because it has become a "must see" for the haters, who will look for any mistake or wrong word to use against Palin. I could not deal with that pressure---I hope Palin can. With a tough opponent and a moderator with so many reasons to make her look bad (can you believe that book deal?), if Palin can come out of this debate still standing I would consider that a win. I only hope her courage will make at least a few in the media re-think their attacks on her. I think she is amazing and I pray that quality will shine through tomorrow night.

Thanks, Cindy!

You're right on the money. Nothing is more refreshing than the truth-- and I think Sarah stood up for it (and us) in the debate. Thanks for stopping by my blog-- I'll definitely be coming back to yours, too!

Keep the truth coming!
