I like that phrase, "The 5 kings", but I should point out that one of them is a Queen.

What I don't understand is why Congress does not just vote to set this issue outside the jurisdiction of the Court. The Constitution explicitly gives Congress the power to prevent the court from ruling on any issue it pleases. It's right there in Article 3 of the Constitution:

''In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.''


Instead of trying to craft law that will please the court -- tell them this issue is out of bounds for them and that the current law stands.
