Covenants?

What do you mean by covenant of redemption and covenant of grace? These terms are not in the Bible.

Redemption and Grace

The terms redemption and grace are found in the Bible especially in the Christian OT which was known as the Scriptures in the 1st century AD.

Redemption - God will redeem his people through the new covenant established by Jesus the Messiah. For they have broken the old covenant with Moses. Hebrews is full of covenant references that talks about the people needing to be redeemed from the Mosaic Covenant.

Grace - Grace is a "taking away" of punishment that is deserved. God's grace is received through Jesus the Messiah in the new covenant. God will not judge us according to the old Mosaic Covenant but instead will allow his grace to be given by Jesus to those who have faith in him. That is part of the new covenant that is found in Jesus the Messiah. The NT contains many examples of our being "sinners" and deserving of God's punishment but that deserved punishment is withheld because of God's Grace being granted through Jesus the Messiah.
