Obamacare and the approaching economic train wreck

Well put. More money being proposed to spend on something many Americans don't want. They didn't listen to us on the stimulus package or the bailouts. They didn't listen to us on the Cap and Trade proposal and their trying to ignore many of these intelligent and angry Americans on this health care.

Even in their continuing ignorance I think many independents and Obama voters are seeing this is not the way. They are seeing that we who are angry are not stupid, anti-government, but very concerned Americans. We need more of these people on our side. The government can't ignore us forever.

1) Institute "loser pays" tort reform to reduce the number of frivolous lawsuits that insurance companies urge their clients to settle on, thus reducing costs. Putting a cap on claims of "pain & suffering" and punitive damages would also help. This step is, of course, opposed by the Democrats because they are run by the trial lawyers associations, and this step would put a crimp in the billionaire lifestyles of many trial lawyers.

2) Institute portability across state lines for insurance coverage, along with a la carte plans. There is no need for a family of a single dad and 3 pre-teen boys to have to get child birth coverage in their family plan. I shouldn't have to buy a new plan when I move from PA to TX, and the price shouldn't be different in Noo Yawk than it is in San Antonio.

3) Get the federal gummint OUT of the health care industry all together, with the exceptions of military and veterans care...but privatize them as much as possible (the VA medical care sux, as does much of the military medical care).

Crawfish, you got here first. I agree. Tort reform MUST BE NUMBER ONE ON THE LIST OF EVERYONE WHO HAS ANY SENSE.

I agree also on your number 2 item (portability). But I might make your number 3 item the number 2 item on my list and make "portability" the number 3 item on my list.

VA medical care does s*ck. Even 35 years ago when my father tried to use it.

is right. The train wreck is coming and there are very good ideas out there-the problem is so many just can't see past their own partys pride for the good of the nation. The solution you mentioned looks good--I pray some will see before the wreck happens!!

Good post. Reading your blog, I am reminded of that new AC/DC song, "Rock And Roll Train" with the lyrics "runaway train". Obama is the engineer and Soros is the conductor. Eyes set on purposely derailing the greatness that is America. Both men intent, but for entirely different reasons. I get to that in my last post.
