I really wish that this election season would encourage an IDEOLOGICAL debate, before it spirals into a free-for-all giveaway of behemoth proportions.

Both sides play the 'giveaway' game - the (D) party is just 'better' at it. But that also speaks to the diminishing intelligence of our electorate.

After all, if we (the electorate) are open to being bribed with our own tax-money, then we deserve to be ruled into oblivion by the Leftist (D) party.

Forgive me for not keeping on topic here, but I just wanted to compliment you on your clear reasoning. I am a few months behind on the comments part of the columnists articles. As I am catching up, I wanted to tell you that I appreciate your logical view of the natural inclination of altruism and how it is affecting our slide leftward. You comment a lot about this and I always find myself agreeing when taking a hard and clear look at our state. Keep up the good work!

to take from one citizen at gunpoint and give the proceeds to another, while taking a cut for oneself in the process? Sounds more like Robin Hood with government sanction to me. But it sure ain't charity.
