Well written response to the good liberal doctor.I reside in N.E. Ohio and have over 35yrs experience in dealing with unions(in my case,the rubber workers,now called steel workers).Unions have passed their prime and are a detriment to those they purport to serve.

I come from a family of union workers/supporters (Teamsters and Retail Clerks) and I saw first hand the thuggery of the unions and the great cost to the companies saddled with them.

I also was forced into unions working for a school district and then a city in Los Angeles. It is awful to see folks who refuse to do their jobs PROTECTED by the unions. Plus, when everyone gets the same raise, and there are no rewards for merit, you see a real downturn in productivity and inovation. I resented paying dues to thugs, and I hated the thought that taxpayer dollars support the unions.

I believe the only hope for the Big 3 is to free themselves from the UAW.
