This is a ticking time bomb. McCain is taking a huge risk here. Whatever passes will probably not work since none of the real problems are going to be fixed. But, this will forever more be John McCain's bailout.
The public is not buying into this one little bit. McCain had better listen to DeMint and not GrAmnesty.
BTW, I got polled on this by the RNC just two hours ago.

I dont think that I'm willing to accept the level of risk that's involved in having no deal. I know I've been predicting doomsday for a long time but its shocking to see it looming so close. We ALL made a huge profit out of this. My house went from $189k to $775k in ten years. To say 'devil take the hindmost' is not a good option. The Paulsen solution is horrible but it is the best alternative. If McCain champions it and it becomes law he will win the election. I never liked him until it became clear that he's a fighter. He hasn't let the hype deter him and his judgement has been right on all year. he'll beat that weasel Obama and he'll stop all the aisle-crossing when he has to deal with Reid, Pelosi & Co. as the head of the Executive Branch.
