Very good analysis-where did you find all the facts about Watada's life and career? I especially like the part... "why did he continue taking promotions long after the war had started?"

The specific information you mentioned was found on Wikipedia. Yes I know that it isn't a respected source, but I did click on the links they provided and everything seemed valid.

An additional note is that his name is spelled Ahren or Ehren depending on the site.
