You point out the quintessential Liberal belief: experts know better, and can make everything perfect if you let them, and , oh yeah, they have to be Liberals because no one else is qualified. Thus the Stalins, Pol Pots, Maos, etc can run a country, and no one dare contradict them. The Liberal hubris is in direct contradiction to the Conservative belief in the collective wisdom of Men as manifested in thousands of years of history and the institutions and processes which have arisen, and which should be conserved not torn down by academics with New, untried ideas. Good protect us from the experts!

The media is hopeless. They will never tell the truth. To the modrn media they believe they know the truth and will only tell the story that they belive makes there case.
