Cognitive Dissonance

I find the argument on both sides a fascinating study in the tendency of humans to attempt to reduce cognitive dissonance. The Right will not acknowledge that there has been a a marriage of convenience between religion and republicans, or that Carrie violated her contract and behaved like a Diva. The left will not acknowledge that far too much attention was paid to Carrie's comment. Both sides are equally disgusting in their attempts to pander to their contituants.

Where is the cognitive dissonance?

What possible problem is there with religious people being Republicans and believing in free speech? The only cognitive dissonance I can detect is a woman being attacked and degraded because of her viewpoint not being the politically correct GLBT acceptable point of view. The only cognitive dissonance isn't within a mindset but between two groups. The intersection of feminists and GLBT are not in accordance. Women should be allowed to have their own viewpoints without being marginalized by men, well Perez Hilton is kind of a man.
